1. Producer/singer/songwriter, jazz/blues guitarist Michael Lewis returned to the West Coast in 2008 (originally from San Jose, California, now living in Northern Idaho, near Spokane, Washington) after a twelve year stint as a Nashville session guitarist/producer. He performs regularly in the Northwest US as One Street Over (formerly known as the Michael Lewis Band and the Michael Lewis Acoustic Duo) with up and coming vocal star (and daughter) Bridgette Lewis. Michael is also known as the co-founder of the Inventioning Band with Jon Anderson and Jean Luc Ponty who went on to become the Anderson-Ponty Band. Michael has continued to release songs under the Inventioning name.

Michael has eight endorsements, credits on over 60 albums and music currently airing in over 30 countries worldwide. He has toured internationally and has a catalog of recordings dating back to 1986. Michael currently operates a recording studio called The Song Mill, in Hayden, Idaho where he continues his work as a producer and session musician over the internet working on independent and major label projects along with music for Film and TV.

Michael's recordings feature Grammy award winning musicians, Brian Fullen on drums (Peter Frampton, SHeDAISY) and Chris Kent on bass (Larry Carlton, Michael McDonald -- Chris passed away Oct. 19, 2011 after his third bought with cancer.) You'll also hear bass virtuoso John Billings (Donna Summer, Wooten Brothers, Rick Springfield) on several cuts. Michael has now added bassist Adam Nitti to the lineup of the Inventioning Band along with keyboardist Oliver Wakeman, son of famed keyboardist Rick Wakeman, formerly of the band YES. Michael toured as a side man for Jamie Slocum (Curb Records) in the late 90's, has appeared with Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Bernadette Peters and world renowned guitarist Phil Keaggy. Keaggy released a song with Lewis on his "Cover of Love" project (2012). While in Nashville, Michael produced several commercials featuring Melinda Doolittle who went on to place 3rd on the 6th season of American Idol.

Michael has performed hundreds of concerts in some 40 US states, Germany, Switzerland, Norway and Mexico (2006, Michael was a featured artist for the International Guitar Festival in Zihuatanejo, Mexico). In 2007 Michael was named one of the top independent artists in the country by the Independent Artist Registry. In Nashville, Michael performed with many acts and was the guitarist for the Radio Daze Big Band for 10 years. Michael currently performs around 75 shows a year with his band One Street Over, most of them as a duo with his daughter Bridgette.

Michael Lewis and his daughter Bridgette have also released a number of music videos (see One Street Over and InventioningBand on YouTube.)

Michael re-released his instrumental jazz Christmas album "A Very Cool Christmas" to CDBaby in 2014. It is slated for another iTunes release in the near future.

Michael Lewis has also developed his own line of electric guitars (MichaelLewisGuitars) and a hand full of them were made available in 2009. The guitars were tested by Nashville session players: Brett Mason, Johnny Hiland, Tom Hemby, Phil Keaggy and their suggestions were implemented into the final versions. Brett Mason was the first one to record with an MLG and the guitars debuted live at B.B. Kings when Michael performed as a special guest with the Stacy Mitchart Band.

Mike was born in Columbus, Ohio and was exposed to the music industry as a youngster. His father, Dean Lewis who was on the air at WBNS, managed a group called the "Cannon Brothers". One member of that group, Gene Cotton, went on to a successful writing and recording career. In recent years, Mike has co-written with Gene on several songs.
Mike is no stranger to the spotlight. For years, his day gig, was as a T-V news reporter and anchor in Virginia and Pennsylvania. His reporting on gangs and drugs, was recognized by Associated Press as among the best.
The newscast he co-anchor also garnered an Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast. During that time, Mike was always writing. In 2003, his first 6-song c-d of original material was used by the New York TImes station he worked for in Scranton, Pa., to raise funds for the Northeast Pennsylvania Boys and Girls Clubs. Mike signed, and the t-v station sold, 10-thousand c-d's and gave the Boys and Girls Clubs a check, for 80-thousand dollars.
Mike then went on to record two more c-d's on his own.. produced by Steve Gibson in Nashville. One Teardrop Falls, and Save the Day.. both got regional airplay.. and were well received.
His latest effort, "Do Whatcha Gotta Do"... is and upbeat collection of orginal songs..co-produced by Mike, and Kerry Marx and Martin Young in Nashville. One song on the new c-d "Shine", was co-written with Tom Manning.
His music has been used by a weekly t-v and on-line series in Northeast Pa.. called Windsor Park Stories. Also, a documentary, Luke, Nick and Laura... used his music in the soundtrack. It won best documentary at the Sol Film Festival.   Mike continues to write and record in Nashville and perform live. He's opened for various artists, including the Oak Ridge Boys. He also does solo acoustic shows.

Nothing can be hidden behind a vanishing point, so it cannot be an explanation for our horizon, that does hide things.

One solution could be saying that the Sun and the other astronomical bodies (like the moon and the constellations) go below the edge of a flat Earth, but that's an untenable position (and still cannot explain objects and landmarks being hidden by the horizon).

Another solution could be saying that nothing ever goes behind the horizon, but they just disappear due to distance, but that's untenable, because we can see easily that's not the case. In particular, as you already pointed out, in the classic Rowbotham/Gleason system the Sun and the Moon would never go anywhere close to the horizon, and the Sun would need to travel millions of Km before vanishing (becoming a bright star in the meantime).

A more exotic third position would be curving the light. It's a more interesting position, but it still cannot explain what we see. For example, an undistorted Sun setting behind undistorted mountains would require so much ad hocs and special pleading that "a wizard did it" becomes a valid alternative.

In all cases the vanishing point doesn't have anything to do with the horizon, so the horizon doesn't have to "rise to eye level" (and remains an unexplained phenomenon on a flat Earth).

Yes, the horizon as the edge of the disc makes no sense, but almost no FE believer goes in that direction (many if not most don't think there's an edge anyway).
The only time I saw an FE believer trying to use that argument was a panicking attempt at damage control under GreaterSapien's video showing the curve of the horizon from a commercial airline flight. (In the same video he also showed that the angle of dip of the horizon was the one expected on the globe: around 3° at 30000 feet of altitude - on a flat plane it would've been around half that value).

So we have three explanations for the flerfizon do far:
a) edge of the disc: unusable
b) visibility: it doesn't work because it's a meteorological effect and would give different values from different times of the day
c) vanishing point: it would be always at eye level and it would require people to see at a distance much greater than the diameter of Earth from ground to ground to begin with.
(None of these explanations would work with basic observations like distant objects and landmarks being partially hidden by the horizon or the horizon moving away as the observer increases elevation, anyway.)
So no horizon on a flat Earth, just a blurred line between ground and sky that in populated areas would glow faintly thanks to the lights of the cities.
Too bad, if flatearthers were right it would've simplified a lot the work of cartographers... ;)

WAVE TOPS PROVE A CURVE
Go on a 50 ft cliff (overlooking the ocean) with a long zoom lens and study the detailed wave tops with a telescope. Or look up any FE/RE zoom videos (doesn’t matter which side it supports) filmed from a high standpoint and highly zoomed views of the sea horizon. In the videos you can clearly see the detailed wave tops (right on the horizon) silhouetting the background sky or ground or ships (with sharp and defined wave tops). You will just say it's a swell but the same effect happens from a 50 ft cliff, there is no swell that big on a nice calm day and only curvature can explain it. There is your curvature! If the world was really flat you should see some blurring at the very top of the horizon (from a height) but we don’t, we see that clear detail right on the horizon. Here is a video that is supposed to support a FE but supports what I said above (and that’s even better cos it’s a FE video). A flat earth video disproving itself. lol . “VANISHING” SUN CLOSER THAN VISIBLE STARS
We can see stars that are further away than their "vanishing" sun (in the FE model) and yet their sun "vanishes due to perspective" but we can still see the background stars after the sun "vanishes". They are stars that are further away than their "vanishing" sun (on the far side of their “firmament”)?

SUN SIZE
The flat earth model requires the sun (and moon) to be maximum apparent size at noon and then progressively appear smaller as it traverses towards the horizon. And it’s required to be like a “star size” just prior to it “Vanishing due to perspective” and at several degrees above the horizon. But we don’t see that, we see the sun slip behind the horizon at full apparent size.

SUN and CURVATURE
You can do this on a beach. Lay flat on your front looking out to sea and watch the sunset. As soon as the top edge of the sun disappears, pop up and you'll be able to see the top of the sun again. No technology involved. We are told by FE people to 'trust your senses' well you can see this with just your own eyes. However, I'm sure someone will say this doesn't prove anything, so do we 'trust our senses' or not?

SUNRISE/SET AZIMUTH ANGLES
The direction of sunrise and sunset matches the globe and not a flat AE map. On the AE map you wouldn't get a sunrise due east during the equinox. It gets even worse at the southern polar circle at winter solstice as the sun would come up nearly due south, even though the sun would be almost directly north of you. ELEVATION ANGLE TO POLARIS On a globe and a distant Polaris, the elevation angle matches your latitude. On a flat earth, this simply cannot happen.

PARTLY PHASED MOON
If moon phase is clearly not full, the round part of the phased moon always points towards the sun… implying that space exists and a ball sun, earth and moon and fits with space geometry perfectly. And during the day when both the sun and moon are both visible, you can hold a tennis ball exactly where you see the moon at arm's distance) you will see that the tennis ball has the exact phase as the moon. And this happens at all times, in all positions in the sky.

TELLING THE TIME WITH THE MOON
With the moon‘s phasing you can tell where the sun is and therefore estimate the time (not possible with a flat earth). This can also be proven to work (within an hour) depending on the observer’s judgement.

SUN EMITTING, MOON REFLECTING LIGHT
At daylight (when you can see both the sun and the moon) if you sight up both the sun and moon, you can see how the moon phase geometry fits with a sun that is emitting light and a moon reflecting light from the sun. How we see the moon phase fit’s that perfectly. And during the day when both the sun and moon are both visible, you can hold a tennis ball exactly where you see the moon at arm's distance) you will see that the tennis ball has the exact phase as the moon. And this happens at all times, in all positions in the sky.

MOON PHASE AND DISTANCE OF SUN
And the phase geometry fit’s with a sun that is way further away than the moon. If the sun was the same distance as the moon (and in daylight when the sun and moon appear fairly close) the phase should be half. But moon’s phase is like a quarter when it appears fairly close to the sun. That’s cos the sun is so far away. The moon phase fit’s distant sun perfectly. And during the day when both the sun and moon are both visible, you can hold a tennis ball exactly where you see the moon at arm's distance) you will see that the tennis ball has the exact phase as the moon. And this happens at all times, in all positions in the sky.

DISTANT OBJECTS CUT OFF BOTTOM
Go to cliff on the coast where there are extremely distant object(s) (like islands or large structures) on the horizon. And set up a telescope. Study the distant object(s) and see if you can see it right down to the bottom of the object(s). If you cannot see the bottom of the object(s) you know the cliff is way too high for it to be any "swell" that's cutting it off on the bottom. And if you can go lower and view the same object it will be cut off on the bottom even more by the horizon.

THE SOUTHERN CROSS PROVES SCP
I live in Australia and flat earthers living in the NH can come down to the SH and observe the Southern Cross. It can be seen circling the SCP if you look in stages throughout the night (from more than 30 degrees S). You can observe the fact that the Southern Cross never rises or sets, but just keeps going round in circles (around the SCP). I observed the left side of the circle in summer nights and the right side of the circle in winter nights. I have seen the whole circle. I have been keeping track of it for a year or so. It's true, the SCP is really there and I don’t even need time-lapse to observe it. It’s not possible on a flat earth.

PLANETS PROVE SPACE

VENUS
With a small telescope you can view Venus and sometimes it appears larger and like 1/4 phase, and months later it appears smaller and like 3/4 phase. This is what everyone can see in a telescope. When Venus is larger and 1/4 phase it’s on the near side of the sun and when it’s smaller and 3/4 phase it’s on the far side of the sun (this geometry fits exactly with what we see). This is visual proof of the depth of space.

VENUS MARS JUPITER SATURN
Venus is always observed somewhat near the sun and that completely fits with Venus being inside our orbit. And Mars, Jupiter and Saturn all appear anywhere in the sky in relation to the sun and that implies they are outside our orbit. What we all see proves space.

JUPITER
With the naked eye, Jupiter appears pure white and it’s about the brightest thing in the sky (after Venus) and it does not twinkle at all. It’s so easy to find (when Jupiter is up at night). Even with binoculars you can see the “disc” size of Jupiter (unlike the “point source” stars).

JUPITER’s MOONS
Even with good binoculars you can see Jupiter’s 4 visible moons traversing around Jupiter (side view). If you view in stages like several hours apart (or the next night) and you will see that the moons have changed positions. If the next night is cloudy just view again as soon as you can. Draw on paper what you see in the first stage, then compare it to what you see later in the second stage. Jupiter’s moons orbit quickly cos of Jupiter’s immense gravity. And this is visual proof of it. Did God put that on the “firmament”?

JUPITER’s GREAT RED SPOT (GRS)
With a good telescope (capable of resolving the GRS on Jupiter) you can see the GRS traverse the planet (in stages) throughout the night. And sometimes the GRS is visible and sometimes it's not (when it's on the other side of the planet).

SATURN’s RINGS
Through a telescope, study Saturn. To find it with the naked eye Saturn looks like a reasonably bright “star” and cream in colour and it does not twinkle at all. So when Saturn is up it’s easy to find if you keep in mind the colour and lack of twinkling (rather than the dominant brightness). Through a telescope you can see Saturn’s rings pitched at a certain angle giving the rings a certain apparent shape. View Saturn again a few months later (when it’s up) and you will see the rings take on a different apparent shape. This implies that the rings do in fact show depth. Did God put that on the “firmament”?

SATURN’s MOONS
You need a good telescope to see Saturn’s 3 visible moons. Just like with Jupiter, Saturn’s moons prove space by viewing it and then viewing it again the next night. You will see that the 3 moons change positions with each stage of viewing. You just do the same thing with Saturn as you do with Jupiter’s moons, to witness this. But Saturn’s moons are viewed at a different angle than with Jupiter (like not exactly a side view) and the moon’s (at least sometimes) appear like an oval around Saturn (instead of a straight line as with Jupiter).

Oh, that is beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I can already hear the objection: "But you did not account for perspective. " No, tracing parallel lines and showing where they converge IS perspective, because the definition of the vanishing point is that is where parallel lines appear to meet. And in every instance they converge above the horizon. So simple! How come no one thought of that before? Well done!

When I was a kid I would go fishing on Lake Superior with my dad. I noticed at a young age that I could see the smoke from the ore ships long before they would come into view. I was intrigued by the reason why the ships were invisible so I asked my dad about it. He informed me that it was because of the horizon which has a visual limit of approximately 15-20 miles due to the curvature of the Earth. I wasn't "brainwashed" by a scientist to realize that the answer was true. I later discovered that fact was the premise for all the other phenomena that point to a spherical Earth. Tides, gravity, Equatorial proportion of day and night hours, seasonal changes are all congruent with the fact that God did not create a flat Earth. I could compile a longer list of facts, but it is more important to note that those who misinterpret Biblical scripture to fit their arguments propagate the most damaging lie of all.

Excellent!
Just a pedantic point: when the video at 0:06 says that 'On a plane, parallel lines appear to converge in a vanishing point on the horizon', this is only true when the parallel lines are parallel to the plane as well as to each other . If they were sloping upwards or downwards, like the tiles on a sloping roof, they would have a vanishing point somewhere either above or below the horizon, depending on the observer's view of the slope. There might conceivably be cases where the ground itself is sloping upwards or downwards, and in these cases parallel roads would not be expected to converge on the horizon. I don't think this is likely to be a problem with any of the examples in the video, but it is safest to rely on examples like the floors of buildings, as there are obvious practical reasons for building these to be horizontal, even if the ground under them is uneven or sloping.

As an artist, knowing how vanishing points work... two points get closer two each other the farther away they get. The night sky doesn't do this. Two stars at the zenith do not get closer to each other the closer they get to the horizon and the sun doesn't shrink in size... as the flat earth models say it should. Set a camera that does time lapse. The proof is above your heads every night. Fools have eyes but cannot see... but see them delight in their own ignorance.

The latest explanation for this is that the true horizon lies higher than the apparent horizon. Why that is so, or by what magical phenomenon it should be caused that you see the horizon much lower than in reality cannot be explained by flerfers, as they cannot explain anything in their strange, magical view on the shape of the earth. Jos Leys - sure, I was just referencing one of the other flat earth claims which is incorrect.
Lines of perspective are tangential to the surface of the earth, eye level is tangential to the observer above the earth, those two lines will converge at the vanishing point which is infinitely far away. Ergo the vanishing point is at eye level.
The horizon, however, is always below “eye level”.

Of course, on a flat earth the vanishing point would also rise to eye level but the angle between the vanishing point and the horizon (whatever that is on the flat earth) would have to be be less.

What could be more convincing than this? It just cannot be refuted unless you absolutely refuse to believe your own eyes, which flerfers are famous for of course! Even the Bible, which the majority of them appear to adhere to, condemns them in the following verses which could well have been written specifically for them: " Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not" (Jeremiah 5:21) and echoed by Jesus: "Having eyes, see ye not?" Genesis Berrios it’s simple geometry. A vanishing point only appears in front of you. As objects get farther away, they occupy less percentage of your field of view and grow smaller. As they tend to move towards infinity, they tend to appear ‘infinitely small’ which is well, just a point. This point is vanishing point. The road or other markers going from left to right although change in distance, never go infinitely far away from you. So, they do not become infinitely small and there is no vanishing point.

But, if you rotate the camera by 90 degrees along the vertical axis (you turn the camera to the right or to the left), take a photo and try the same thing on parallel lines in that photo, you will see the same effect. In fact, no matter how many degrees you turn the camera, you will get the same effect since the earth is roughly a spheroid.

That means a ship half the size of the picture that is half cut off by the sea horizon memains half cut off when it's magnified to the same size of the picture (or bigger). For the globe model to work, it must give you consistently accurate results when doing curvature experiments. We know from experience that the distance to the horizon varies significantly due to all kind of factors. Most importantly because of the fact that it is constructed by the eye. You can increase focal length by using a zoom camera. So the assumption that ships are going over the horizon/ the curvature of the earth, is wrong. The globers must show that the horizon is the curvature and the flat earthers must show that the horizon is not the curvature of the earth. Well, flat earthers have already done this. So the globe earthers are in trouble.

You are either a troll (and not a flat earth) and just having fun, or you are so dumb that you didn't even check closely if his lines were parallel to the features they are based on. How come we can see wave top detail in highly zoomed shots of the sea horizon, shot from 50 ft above the water surface? On a calm day you don't get swells that big. With that (along with my other 19 points we can see outside) the flat earthers are really and truly in deep shit.

@Requiem4aDr3Am what rubbish - its not expert , its experts , look at every single reply , everyone is agreeing with what I said , this is from people who have direct experience , who know exactly how bad coverage is due to weather , why would any dish network spend an astronomical amount to pay the satellite company when they can get coverage for 1% of the price that doesn't rely on good weather - read all the comments and you will see there is a delay , and that is without 4k video , that is your handheld phone that you can't even use indoors . Another easy win for the globe is never happening . Satellites are not used for TV , unless you had millions of people in the wilderness , why would they ? There is no viewable or measurable curvature anywhere on earth. The Earth's equatorial diameter is only 7926 miles. Not really a big sphere. On the other hand, on a plane it is vast.

Your lines are in wrong places ,another glober who doesn't understand perspective , can you yourself go out and make video and try to show your perspective in an uncut video please , perspective from high altitude balloons, mount everest ,commercial planes or at sea level there's no curvature at all . @Pastor flat The video shows parallel lines converging above and beyond the horizon. If you don't share the delusion that vanishing points are related to limits to our vision and somehow cause the horizon, how exactly does this relate to your claim of limits to our vision?

Please bear in mind that 1. The "vanishing" point is infinitely far away as parallel lines never meet.
2. Limits to the resolution of our eyes or cameras do not cause objects to disappear but to merge. Two bright lights at the limit of resolution look like one bright light, but if bright enough it will still be see.
3. There is no known limit to the distance light can travel. If you believe there is, please provide the independent evidence.
