His father was Ray Cameron, who wrote with Barry Cryer for Kenny Everett. Cameron and Michael's mother were divorced when Michael was seven, and ten years later, Cameron (who had emigrated to the USA) suddenly died of a heart attack when McIntyre was 17. In 2008, Michael referred to his appearance (as well as his newborn son's appearance) as looking Chinese when he smiles and that he is mistaken as Chinese when in some restaurants.

Just Toast he doesn't forget them - obviously, he's a comedian and all of his performance is scripted - but those are actually his transitions. they're subtle and seamless and they create that sort of chatty, tangential effect, but in fact they are very deliberate. i think it's very clever how he executes them in this particular way.
