Give It to Me

And you think your life has only become the price you paid for all your wrongs
When the cold is all around you and hopelessness has found you
And it seems like you've been there for oh so long
You don't have to be afraid
Just take that tear from your face and give it to me.
Every piece of your broken heart, give it to me
Every wound that's left to scar
Find your deepest worry, your darkest yesterday
Take them both and throw them in the sand
I will be the gentle wave that comes to wash it all away
Just give it to me, every piece of your broken heart
Every piece of your broken heart, give it to me
Every wound that's left to scar
Every fear will fade here in my arms
If you give it to me
Just give it to me
I swear I will never leave you,
Do anything to free you
If you only knew just how much I could love you
You'd give it to me; you'd give it to me
Give it to me
Every piece of your broken heart, give it to me
Every wound that's left to scar
Your every fear will fade here in my arms
If you give it to me, yeah
Just give it to me
Just give it to me
The lyrics to Michael Sarver's song "Give It to Me" captures the idea of being there for someone in their moments of need. The song starts with the idea of feeling broken and hopeless but finding comfort in the presence of someone who's willing to offer a listening ear and a comforting hand. The singer reassures the listener that they do not have to be afraid and that they will be there for them if they are willing to open up and "give it to me." The lyrics go on to encourage the listener to let go of past hurts and worries and trust that they will be taken care of.
The song's chorus repeats the idea that the singer is there to receive the listener's pain and fear, offering comfort and promising to never leave them. The verses continue with images of throwing struggles away and allowing the singer to be the "gentle wave that comes to wash it all away." The lyrics seem to be an invitation to vulnerability and the promise of love and acceptance.
Overall, "Give It to Me" is a song about empathy and compassion, about finding hope in the midst of struggle, and about the power of human connection.
