This Is Your Time

It was a test that we could all hope to pass
But none of us would want to take
Faced with the choice to deny God and live
For her there was one choice to make

This was her time
This was her dance
She lived every moment
Left nothing to chance

She swam in the sea
Drank of the deep
Embraced the mystery of all she could be
This was her time

Though you are mourning and grieving your loss
Death died a long time ago
Swallowed in life so that life carries on
Still it's so hard to let go

What if tomorrow
And what if today
Faced with the question
Oh what would you say

This is your time
This is your dance
Make every moment
Leave nothing to chance

Swim in the sea
Drink of the deep
Call on the mercy
Hear yourself praying

Won't You save me
Won't You save me

Overall Meaning

The song This Is Your Time discusses the powerful story of a young woman's faith and ultimate sacrifice for it. The lyrics express the idea that we are all tested in life, and sometimes that test involves standing up for one's beliefs even in the face of great adversity. The first verse tells the story of a woman who is faced with the choice to deny God and live or to remain faithful and die. She chooses the latter, knowing that it is her time to stand up for what she truly believes in. The chorus focuses on how this was her time to live life fully and without reservation, embracing all that it had to offer.

The second verse moves from the story of the young woman to a more general discussion of loss and grieving. The lyrics suggest that death is not the end, but rather a part of life that continues on. While it may be difficult to let go, we are urged to focus on the present moment and make the most of it. The final chorus brings the message of the song together, reminding us that this is our time to live, to dance, to take risks, and to find the courage to stand up for what we believe in.

@@riggthompson2648 Despite the long shadow of grief and sorrow that looms over Columbine High School; the families of the thirteen lives lost that day are all doing their best to cope. Some survivors have turned their pain into purpose; for example, Kacey Johnson (née Reugsegger) is an advocate for bone and tissue donation. There are some tales from the Columbine High School tragedy that can give some people a reason to smile and believe in the good of humanity. Firstly; Frank DeAngelis stayed on as the principal of Columbine High School until the last group of students who had been in Preschool at the time of the shooting had graduated. A small group of former students have returned to the school as teachers; their names are Katie Tennessen, Mandy Cooke, Alise Steiner, Noelle Sudano, Chris Welsh, Brett O'Neill, and Zach Martin. Though the biggest surprise is that Rachel Scott's mother Beth Nimmo not only forgave but also met Dylan's mother Sue Klebold. In an interview with Hoda Kotb for the "Today" show on NBC; Beth explained that forgiveness isn't saying that it was okay that this happened, but forgiveness is instead giving yourself permission not to make this tragedy your life sentence. Before she met her; Beth said that she asked God what she was supposed to say to Sue, and God told her that she should ask Sue about who Dylan was before April the 20th of 1999. When Beth asked this question; she said that tears began rolling down Sue's cheeks because no one had ever asked her such a question.

@@michaellovely6601 It was surprised. God knew it and he knew what he was saying. That will never leave my mind. That will never be forgotten.
