During ten years of travel, he sought to understand and connect with the source of great music and musicians, as well as to understand the spiritual and cultural evolution of his western heritage. This took him through Europe, Africa, Mexico and the United States, always looking to find musicians with a similar approach.
In the early 90βs, after over twenty years or playing, Michael encountered the Amazonian healing ceremonies and their sacred chants, and was profoundly moved by the deep connection with the spirits of nature that he had known growing up in the remote forests of coastal British Columbia. Shortly after, he wrote his first composition (Earthgate β the opening track on Famous in Mongolia ), and G for Goddess. He sensed he had moved ahead musically.
He played with no further advancement until the fall of 2004. Two weeks before participating in his second Amazonian healing ceremony, the music began to flow again.
Thus, after 33 years of playing and composing only two songs, the rest of the music on The Medicine Path began to arrive, and did not stop until the spring of 2006.
During this period, working with the Shipibo master healer Guillermo Arevalo, Michael experienced a complete disintegration of his previous approach to music.
βI feel as if I started in the mountains and followed the tributaries through the valleys long and far enough, and then one day finally reached the sea. In front of me was the same sight that had inspired all my musical heroes.β

He now lives in Victoria, Canada with his family. He performs locally and internationally, teaming up in 2008 with the Ugandan musician Kinobe, forming the world music duo 'Nomad'.. Michael produces and distributes his music through his own label, Ladybird Music. For more see www.ladybirdmusic.com

Love this! Isnβt Life beautiful, how we grow and expand, learning how to navigate through our journey to be in the here and now, letting go of the roller coaster of our thoughts ~ and having complete trust in the natural unfoldings of Life ~ where we need not push ~ that we can truly open our hearts, noticing the beauty all around us, due to the time we now have, as we are no longer in our minds 24/7, trying to figure out this and that , the whyβs and why meβs.
When we let go, allowing Life to run itβs natural course, rather than trying so hard to not have this or that happen, or gripping in anxiety, so afraid of what will happen next, or trying to prevent this or that from happening,,, instead, we relax, take a full deep breath, totally letting go, releasing all train of thoughts that are trying to take residence within our minds and bodyβs, and just be still, look around , and enjoy the moment that is right in front of us. When we do this those moments of stillness begin to grow more and more, placing surprises and delights within those moments that we took control over our lives by letting go of control β₯οΈ

Super proud of your 13 year old! What story will have! Imagine all the lives she will touch from her learning to take control of her life by letting go and letting life pass through, holding onto to her joy, her peace, and enjoying those moments of being present β₯οΈ One day she will look back at all this and be so thankful she went through what she went through (and even more, that she has a mom who loves her so deeply that she introduced to her how to obtain freedom at such a young age)

So grateful For Michael Singers teachings.
I recently found out about this and hope it will help me to recover from many years of sad litigation abuse in a divorce where my ex did take my house; car; health insurance and all things he had promised when I did meet him when only 21.. his goal was to make me bankrupt and homeless for leaving him. I could not stand up and the it was so painful and disturbing I got very sick for years. His revenge was hard to survive. He did end up with all our community assets, only becuase I had no funds for legal representation in California:
