Monsieur Bernard

In Michel Fugain's song Monsieur Bernard, the lyrics tell the story of a man named Monsieur Bernard who wakes up to find that he has transformed into a horse. He is initially amazed and confused by what he sees in the mirror, as he has become a horse "from his hooves to his lips" - an animal that he belongs to "up to the tail". Monsieur Bernard soon discovers that he has become a skilled show-jumper, able to leap over cars with ease. He revels in his newfound abilities and freedom, and is now able to live a happy and carefree life, free from his mundane office job and able to enjoy the simple pleasures of grazing and spending time with his mare companions.
The lyrics of Monsieur Bernard are steeped in fantastical imagery and themes of transformation, freedom, and self-discovery. The song tells the story of a man who has the opportunity to break free from his dull and mundane life and embrace his true nature. The transformation of Monsieur Bernard into a horse can be interpreted as a metaphor for the power of self-realization and transformation in life. Through his metamorphosis, Monsieur Bernard is able to live a life filled with joy, adventure, and passion, and sheds the constraints and limitations that were holding him back in his human life.

Such a funny song. I understand virtually nothing on this song but I remember in 9th grade (1976) my french teacher playing this song in class.
