Michel Fugain & Le Big Bazar Lyrics

Ring a ding, ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding, ring a ding.
Oui je m'en fous...
Ring a ding, ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding.
Ring a ding, ring a ding, ring a ding.
Oui je m'en fous
The song "Ring et Ding" by Michel Fugain & Le Big Bazar is a satirical take on French military culture and nationalism. The lyrics tell the story of a man who was born in a cannon, and grew up to be a soldier who wants to change history. However, the singer of the song is not interested in changing anything, and repeatedly declares that he doesn't care about the past or the future. The chorus, with its catchy "ring a ding" refrain, underlines the futility of trying to change anything, and suggests that everything will eventually be forgotten.
The first verse introduces the singer as the son of a military man, with a promising career ahead of him. However, the next lines suggest that his ambitions are not entirely noble or intelligent, as he wants to "change history." The singer seems to be mocking this desire, implicitly suggesting that the past cannot be changed, and that it is better to accept it and move on. The reference to the singer being born in a cannon is a humorous exaggeration, but also highlights the violent and destructive nature of war.
The second verse introduces the singer's wife, who also comes from a military family. The singer again mocks the couple's patriotic fervor, suggesting that it is naïve and misguided. The chorus, with its references to the national anthem and military songs, reinforces this critique, and suggests that such symbols are ultimately meaningless.
Overall, the song can be interpreted as a critique of French nationalism and militarism. The singer's desire to change history is portrayed as foolish and futile, and the singer suggests that it is better to live in the present and not worry about the past or future.
