1) Michael Kevin "Mick" Taylor (born 17 January 1949 in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire) is an English musician, best known as a former member of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (1966–69) and The Rolling Stones (1969–74).
"He is regarded by many Stones aficionados as the best musician ever to play with the band, and appeared on some of their classic albums including Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Goat's Head Soup" (The Guardian article, Nov 2012).
"He was a very fluent, melodic player… and it gave me something to follow, to bang off," Mick Jagger said of Taylor, who left the band in 1974. "Some people think that's the best version of the band that existed." (Rolling Stone "100 Greatest Guitarists" article, Dec 2015)
Since resigning from the Rolling Stones in December 1974, Taylor has worked with numerous other artists (and, in 2012, with the Stones themselves) and released several solo albums. He was ranked 37th in Rolling Stone magazine's 2012 list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.

Baby I Want You
Mick Taylor Lyrics

It's part of the game
To be cool and unaffected
When I call and say
That I want you
And you're just the same
Hide your joy, show no surprise
That I want you
Baby I want you, and I love you more each day
Baby I want you, and I love you more each day
Loving you so long
Where is the life that's been lost in the living
Where is the love that's been lost in the giving
Nights are so endless
We're always too late for the mornings that follow
Though we better come down and reach for tomorrow
Baby I want you, and I love you more each day
Baby I want you, and I love you more each day
Loving you so long
I play my guitar for you sweetly on this song
You know I want you more each day
Baby I want you, and I love you more each day
Baby I want you, and I love you more each day
Baby I want you
Baby I need you
Baby I want you
Baby I need you
In the song “Baby I Want You”, Mick Taylor sings about the desire for love and his longing for a specific person. He talks about the game he must play to be cool and unaffected when he calls and says he wants them. The person he desires hides their joy and shows no surprise when he calls, but he still wants them and loves them more each day. He sings about the love he has for them and how he has been loving them for so long. He questions where the life and love are that have been lost in the living and giving, and how the nights are endless and they are always too late for the mornings that follow. Despite this, he still wants and needs them.
The lyrics show a vulnerability in Mick Taylor and his desire for this person. It’s clear that he’s been wanting them for a long time and has been loving them deeply. The line “Where is the life that’s been lost in the living, where is the love that’s been lost in the giving” shows that he’s experiencing some pain or disappointment in the relationship. However, he still wants them and needs them, which emphasizes his longing for this person. His guitar solo in the song contributes to the overall melancholy tone of the song and adds to the expression of his emotions.
