Mickey's music is a collision of new and old, digital and analogue instruments, bent and pushed to their limits. Mickey is constantly leading his fans down a seemingly endless road filled with bold stylistic choices and wild sounds – and we're happily along for the ride.
Bursting onto Aussie radios with the now house classic 'Feel My Pain'. In the years to follow he's dropped radio banger after banger with 'Move To Fast', 'Save You're Breath' 'All That Acid' and 'Video Games'. As well as collaborating on singles with Bag Raiders, Go Freek and with USA EDM act K?D's single Electronic Memories which has been streamed more than 15 million times. A fan highlight from Mickey's catalogue is his 2019 Triple J Like A Version of Art vs Science’s ‘Parlez-vous Francais’.
Coloured with warped guitars, mind-melting synths and gritty undertones, Mickey's 2022 debut album ULTRA, sends you into a vivid-trance as Mickey unpacks a whirlpool of themes from imposter syndrome and isolation to the twisted sides of materialism. Mickey talks through what inspired Ultra;
“The majority of the album was written in the months after our first lockdown in 2020. I had just finished playing the best shows of my life and was inspired to write a whole bunch of energetic, live-focused electronic music so that when things went back to “normal”, the band and I would be ready to shred across the country once more.”
Mickey is currently touring nationally in support of his album kicking it off with a packed Splendour In The Grass, Mix Up tent set before dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Albury, Gold Coast and Townsville, including secret bush doof Shedfest, bringing his signature synth sorcery from Ultra to a stage near you.
Get Out
Mickey Kojak Lyrics

Now you're in my room again
A punishment to fit the crime
I try so hard not to pretend
But I know deep down it always hurts the same
Yeah you try, keep it down, but it hurts to call your name
So get out, don't call, I don't need you anymore
Get out, don't call, i don't need you anymore
Get out, don't call, i don't need you anymore
You called me last summer
To tear the pages of our history
You said you found another
So what you doing lying next to me
Cause I know, deep down, it always hurts the same
Yeah you try, keep it down, but it hurts to call your name
So get out, don't call, I don't need you anymore
Get out, don't call, I don't need you anymore
So get out, don't call, I don't need you anymore
Get out, don't call, I don't need you anymore
So get out
Get out
So get out, don't call I don't need you anymore
Get out, don't call I don't need you anymore
So get out, don't call I don't need you anymore
Get out, don't call I don't need you anymore
So get out
The lyrics describe a toxic relationship that has reached its breaking point. The singer acknowledges that they have tried to make it work before, but it always ends up hurting in the same way. The repetition of the phrase "get out, don't call, I don't need you anymore" emphasizes the singer's firm decision to let go of the relationship and move on.
The second verse reveals the singer's ex-partner attempting to reach out and reconcile, despite having moved on to another relationship. The singer sees through the ex-partner's facade and acknowledges that the relationship will never work, as it always leads to pain.
Overall, the lyrics of "Get Out" convey a message of empowerment and self-respect, as the singer chooses to rid themselves of a toxic relationship and move forward.
