This Is The Life
Micky Lyrics

The cold dark street tonight
And the people, they were dancing
To the music vibe
And the boys chase the girls with curls in their hair
While the shy tormented youth sit way over there
And the songs get louder each one better than before
And you're singing the songs thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go, where you gonna go, where you gonna sleep tonight?
And you're singing the songs thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go, where you gonna go, where you gonna sleep tonight?
Where you gonna sleep tonight?
So you're heading down the road in your taxi for four
And you're waiting outside Jimmy's front door
But nobody's in and nobody's home 'til 4
So you're sitting there with nothing to do
Talking about Robert Riger and his motley crew
And where you gonna go, where you gonna sleep tonight?
And you're singing the songs thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go, where you gonna go, where you gonna sleep tonight?
And you're singing the songs thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go, where you gonna go, where you gonna sleep tonight?
Where you gonna sleep tonight?
And you're singing the songs thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go, where you gonna go, where you gonna sleep tonight?
And you're singing the songs thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go, where you gonna go, where you gonna sleep tonight?
And you're singing the songs thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go, where you gonna go, where you gonna sleep tonight?
And you're singing the songs thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go, where you gonna go, where you gonna sleep tonight?
Where you gonna sleep tonight?
The lyrics of Micky's song "This Is The Life" depict a night filled with excitement, music, and youthful energy. The wind whistling down the cold dark street sets the scene as people gather to dance to the vibrant music. The boys playfully chase after the girls with curly hair, while the more introverted youth observe from a distance. As each song plays, the volume increases, and the crowd becomes more enthusiastic.
The lyrics then shift to a different scenario where the singer finds themselves in a taxi, waiting outside Jimmy's front door but unable to reach anyone inside until 4 am. Left with nothing to do, they engage in idle conversation about Robert Riger and his motley crew. The question of where they will go to sleep tonight hangs in the air, highlighting a sense of uncertainty and transience.
Throughout the song, there is a recurring theme of waking up in the morning with a pounding headache, symbolizing the consequences of a night of uninhibited revelry. Despite the discomfort, there is a sense of joy and nostalgia in singing along to the songs, as if it represents a carefree and exhilarating lifestyle.
Overall, "This Is The Life" captures the essence of youthful exuberance, the pursuit of excitement, and the temporary nature of these experiences.
