She played drums in a band in high-school. As a teenager, she was already writing. She always keeps a notebook and wrote most of her songs in airports and hotel rooms. Her first demos were recorded on her computer. To beat time, she used the sound of a pen on the table, a box, or her leg. She released her first album White T-Shirt in 2007, with the help of the producer Renaud Letang. Her music could be described as colorful, rhythmic and vocal pop.
Make up Your Mind
Micky Green Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Between the trees
Your fall gets caught in the leaves
But when you stop to take it seriously
could it be the time to leave?
You're clinging to the branches that keep you up
You're wild enough
But you don't count on luck
Your decision is to be made
You could leave or you could stay in this place
Sweet Nasty Child
Make up your mind
Heavy on the jetty
In the early morning
I wouldnt call i love and I wouldnt call it boring
First I didnt know but I eneded up adoring
Always the same
I'm too slow to know
Well It cant be
But at least that we
Have memories
Sweet Nasty Child
Make up your mind
Sweet Nasty Child
Make up your mind
What can I say to take it all away?
Can I replay the way it went?
So it wouldn't end in disappointment?
Can I take the pain away or is it really too late?
Everything I said to you I meant
This is not what I wanted
Swinging back and forth between the trees
Your fall gets caught in the leaves
The lyrics in the song Make Up Your Mind by Micky Green depict a person who is indecisive and unsure of what they want. The imagery of swinging between trees and getting caught in the leaves represents this person's inability to move forward and make a decision. However, there is a sense of urgency as the lyrics suggest that it's time for this person to take their situation seriously and make a choice between staying in their current situation or leaving.
The chorus, "Sweet Nasty Child, make up your mind," is a plea for this person to decide what they want and take control of their life. The second verse introduces a different setting - the jetty in the early morning - but the theme of indecision remains. The singer admits to not knowing what they want at first but ultimately ending up adoring the situation. The repetition of "always the same" indicates a sense of stagnation.
The bridge of the song reveals the singer's desire to change the past and remove any disappointment or pain from their relationship. The final line of the song brings us back to the imagery of swinging between trees and getting caught in the leaves, suggesting that the person's indecision and inability to move forward continue.
