After a few years, a few more members and two albums, Soule and the rest of Elf (minus their guitarist) were transformed into Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. During this time a third and final Elf album Trying to Burn the Sun was recorded when the former Elves were not in the studio recording Rainbow's debut album. Blackmore fired the entire line up with the exception of Dio before the first Rainbow tour.
In 1974, he also sang the lead vocals on 'No Solution', from Roger Glover's 'The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast' In 1976 Soule toured France with The Ian Gillan Band.
Soule continues to play locally in NY. His son Matt Soule, plays drums in the Los Angeles alternative rock band, Where's Moo.
One "Mickey Lee Soul" (sic) is credited as Keyboard tech in the liner notes of Deep Purple's album "Live at the Olympia '96".
No Solution

The damage is done and you know how
Don't make a fuss you're not so bad
If you don't want to look so sad
Don't drink the water
It's bad for you
Don't drink the water
I don't mind if you don't care
About your house or what you wear
But these times affect us all
Whether you hop or fly or crawl
Don't drink the water
It's bad for you
Don't drink the water
It's sad for you can't drink it anymore
(No solution)
There's a way to make it clean
It doesn't have to be a dream
What was once can be again
I know how but I don't know when
Don't drink the water
It's bad for you
Don't drink the water
It's sad for you can't drink it anymore
No solution
The song "No Solution" by Micky Lee Soule appears to be a commentary on the consequences of human actions on the environment, specifically pollution and its impact on drinking water. The opening lines, "Don't start complaining now, the damage is done and you know how," suggest that the singer believes it is too late to reverse the damage that has been done to the environment. The refrain, "Don't drink the water, it's bad for you, it's sad for you can't drink it anymore," further emphasizes the idea that pollution has rendered the water supply undrinkable.
The second verse seems to be a call to action, encouraging listeners to understand that environmental degradation affects everyone, regardless of their lifestyle. The line "Whether you hop or fly or crawl" suggests that this message applies to all living beings. However, while the singer acknowledges that there is a problem, the repeated refrain "No solution" implies that they do not have any answers or solutions for how to fix the issue.
Overall, "No Solution" is a song that reflects a concern for environmental issues and the impact of human behavior on the planet. It encourages listeners to consider the consequences of their actions and offers a message of hope that solutions can be found if people work towards fixing the problem.
