Crystal clear with every color at ease
And she gives every angle a whole new light
The way I'm falling like a river from a mountain free
The way I'm falling like a river from a mountain free
She roams within me like a painting by Matisse
Crystal clear with every color at ease
The way I'm falling like a river from a mountain free
The way I'm falling like a river from a mountain free
She roams within me like a painting by Matisse
"Painting By Matisse" by Midnight Choir is an enigmatic ballad that explores the singer's ineffable feelings towards a woman he is enamoured with. The singer compares the woman to a painting by Matisse, a renowned French artist who is known for his bold use of color and his ability to create intense and immediate emotional responses from his viewers. The woman has become a vivid and complex part of the singer's psyche, much like a work of art that is infused with the artist's unique vision and energy.
The first verse establishes the woman's presence within the singer's inner world. She is "crystal clear with every color at ease," which suggests that she is fully formed and expressive, and that her emotional palette is broad and rich. The singer is deeply affected by her, and he sees her from every angle, which gives her "a whole new light." The second verse reinforces this inner relationship, and the singer's emotions towards the woman become more intense and dynamic. He falls for her "like a river from a mountain free," which suggests an unbridled and passionate love that is impossible to resist.
Overall, "Painting By Matisse" is a beautiful and lyrical exploration of love, art, and the inner world of the human psyche. The song is rich in emotional resonance and vivid imagery, and it highlights the deep connections and inspirations that can occur between people and art.
