She ugly yes, but she wearing them exspensive dress
The People say she ugly, but she father full a money
Oh Lord Mamma, woy woy

Good morning Mister Walker
I come to see your daughter
Oh, Mister Walker!
I come to see your daughter
Sweet Rosemarie, she promise she gone marry me
And now I tired waiting!
I come to fix the wedding

After the wedding day, I don't care what nobody say
Everytime I take a good look at she face I see a bankbook
Oh Lord Mamma, woy woy

Good morning Mister Walker
I come to see your daughter
Hmm, Mister Walker!
I come to see your daughter
Sweet Rosemarie, she promise she gone marry me
And now I tired waiting!
I come to fix the wedding, woy

Apart from that, they say how she so big and fat
When she dress they tantalize she, saying monkey wearing mini
Oh Lord Mamma, woy woy

Good morning Mister Walker
I come to see your daughter
Oy, Mister Walker!
I come to see your daughter
Sweet Rosemarie, she promise she gone marry me
And now I tired waiting!
I come to fix the wedding, Hmm

All I know, is I don't intend to let she go
Cause if she was a beauty, nothing like me could get she
Oh Lord Mamma, woy woy

Good morning Mister Walker
I come to see your daughter
Oy, Mister Walker!
I come to see your daughter
Sweet Rosemarie, she promise she gone marry me
And now I tired waiting!
I come to fix the wedding, oh

END.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Mighty Sparrow's song "Mr. Walker" present a story of a man who is in love with a woman named Sweet Rosemarie. Despite the opinions of others who view her as unattractive and overweight, the man is determined to marry her as her father is wealthy. He visits Mr. Walker, Rosemarie's father, to arrange the wedding. However, he also acknowledges the way people talk about her physical appearance and mocks it, saying that when she dresses up, people say she looks like a monkey wearing a mini dress.

The lyrics may be interpreted as a commentary on the superficial nature of society and how people prioritize appearance over substance. It also highlights the theme of class and wealth as a driving force in relationships. Despite the ridicule thrown at the woman, the man is undeterred by her appearance and is motivated by the prospects of financial gains through the marriage.

My father loved listening to Sparrow when I was a child. He’s now 90 yrs. old. I’m now playing it for him, (he has dementia)as he enjoys his Jamaican patty. Time flies so fast. Enjoy and appreciate your parents. Update Jan 2024. Lost my dad last July 2023. Would love to play Sparrow for him today as he eats his patty.I forgot about this post. Enjoy and appreciate your parents.
