Bosé was born in San Fernando Hospital in Panama City, Panama, the son of the famous Italian actress Lucia Bosé and the legendary bullfighter Luis Miguel González Lucas. He is also cousin of Carmen Ordóñez. His Godfather was Luchino Visconti.
In 1971, Bosé started a career as an actor, participating in various movies. However, he did not make that many films, and in 1975 he decided a career change was due and started exploring his talents as a singer. By the hand of Camilo Blanes he recorded his first singles. Some years later Bosé signed a contract with CBS Records in 1977 and he remained with them until 1984.
On March 16 of 2010 he received the Colombian citizenship during a ceremony in the presidential palace, Casa de Nariño.

Oír hablar de América
Ahora vas y dices que
Quieres ir p'allá
Si ni siquiera sabes
Dónde está california
Me cuentas que ahora mueres por
Ponerte morena allá
Bajo un sol forastero
Y ahora de repente
Te pones camiseta New York
Y no tienes idea
Justo ayer me decías
The song "Sol Forastero" by Miguel Bosé is a critique of the romanticized idea of America and the American Dream. The song opens with the singer addressing someone who had previously shown no interest in America, but now claims to want to go there to get tanned under a foreign sun. The singer mocks this superficial view of America, pointing out that the person doesn't even know where California is located. The chorus, "Bajo un sol forastero" (under a foreign sun), reinforces the idea that America is a strange land that the person is idealizing without really understanding it.
The second verse continues to criticize this idealized view of America, as the person sports a New York t-shirt despite having no idea what the weather there is like. The singer then goes on to satirize the myth of America's freedom, culture, and power, pointing out the girl's ignorance and claiming that America is not all it's cracked up to be. Even when the person suggests going to the beach, the singer tells them that life in America is not as idyllic as they may have imagined. The song ultimately comes to the conclusion that the person may be a foreigner under a foreign sun, but they do not belong in America.

Ufff!!!...
