The music video for "Genghis Khan" was initially released on January 12, 2016 exclusively through BuzzFeed. The concept of the video follows a James Bond-esque theme in which a villain struggles to kill his captive due to personal conflicts. Instead of completing his task, the villain ultimately chooses to release his captive, who then makes an attempt to escape. However, in a last minute change of heart, he voluntarily returns to his captor. The two characters then unite through a joint dance sequence, while the villain is seemingly happy for the first time in the video. The video heavily explores themes of homosexuality, as seen by the antagonist of the story leaving his wife to start a new life with his male former captive. The story ends with the antagonist's ex-wife vengefully spying on him and his male partner, seemingly plotting her revenge.

And no labels to put on
To this thing we keep
And dip into when we need
And I don't have the right
To ask where you go at night
But the waves hit my head
To think someone's in your bed
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
Don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
And the lights, they glow
Like I just lost the World War
And the scene slips away
To the evenness I fake
It's a cheat somewhere
'Cause I don't really want you, girl
But you can't be free
'Cause I'm selfish, I'm obscene
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
Don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I wanna make up my mind
But I don't know myself
No I don't know myself
I wanna make up my mind
But I don't know myself
No I don't know myself
I wanna make up my mind
But I don't know myself
No I don't know myself
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
Don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
The lyrics of "Genghis Khan" by Miike Snow speak of a possessive and jealous lover who doesn't want his partner to be with anyone else, but at the same time, he's not sure if he really wants to be with her. There's a certain level of selfishness and insecurity that is evident in the lyrics. The opening lines suggest that there's no form or label for their relationship, but they keep coming back to each other as and when needed. There are no strings attached, but the singer still can't help but get jealous when he thinks about someone else in his lover's bed.
The second half of the song talks about how the singer doesn't really want his lover but still wants her to be with him, and he's aware that his behavior is obscene and selfish. The lyrics "I wanna make up my mind, but I don't know myself" indicate that the singer is uncertain about what he wants and is grappling with his own identity. Throughout the song, the singer is likening himself to the infamous Mongol conqueror Genghis Khan, which is ironic because Genghis Khan is known for his ruthless and possessive behavior.

I know there's no form
I understand that our relationship doesn't fit into any standard category
And no labels to put on
We can't define our relationship with any traditional labels
To this thing we keep
To our unorthodox type of relationship
And dip into when we need
That we only turn to when convenient for us
And I don't have the right
I'm not in a position to
To ask where you go at night
Inquire about your whereabouts at night
But the waves hit my head
I get anxious and worried
To think someone's in your bed
That there might be someone else that you're sleeping with
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I become a bit possessive and jealous
I don't want you to get it on
I don't want you to be intimate
With nobody else but me
With anyone other than myself
And the lights, they glow
The ambiance and atmosphere feels ominous
Like I just lost the World War
As if I've experienced a crushing defeat
And the scene slips away
The moment disappears before my eyes
To the evenness I fake
I put on a face of indifference
It's a cheat somewhere
Our relationship is dishonest and disingenuous
'Cause I don't really want you, girl
Because I don't truly want to be with you
But you can't be free
But I won't allow you to be with anyone else
'Cause I'm selfish, I'm obscene
Because I'm being self-centered and vulgar
I wanna make up my mind
I want to come to a decision
But I don't know myself
But I'm unsure of what I really want
No I don't know myself
I have trouble understanding my own feelings

I really like this video, and feel like it could easily be adapted into an actual movie.
A super villain develops a crush on his nemesis (A James Bond style secret agent), and slowly falls in love with him over the years.
For a while, the villain is depressed, and his wife somehow finds out the reason.
She realizes that she's losing him (this is shown by how her expression changes at the dinner scene).
Eventually, the super villain discovers that his love isn't simply one-sided, as he had previously thought, and so he and the agent hook up.
The villain (who had been under the impression that his original marriage was a completely loveless one) files for a divorce with his wife, so that he may finally live a happy life (with his partner).
The wife disappears for a while, but eventually resurfaces as a new super villain (one who happens to be much more effective than her former husband... Mainly because she has motivation, and is determined to complete what she set out to do), taking the seat on the council that her husband had previously held, and making it her mission to take out the agent (under the guise of wanting to finish what her husband failed to do, but in reality, she truly loved her husband, and is filled with an immense hatred for the man who took him from her).

they def have a labour union or smth going
@dfsfsdfd
@Echo Being that he is an evil villain he isn't required to do everything in the interest of profits, he's running his company like Henry Ford, for the employees. Unions are a cancer and a bandaid for a deeper problem. There are good bosses, but their hands are tied. Most are terrible yes, but unions aren't the answer.
