The lyrics to Mika's song "I See You" describe a person who is secretly in love with someone else but is afraid to reveal their true feelings. MIKA is the modern pop artist I have the most respect for by a long shot. He writes his own material, he's insanely talented as both a singer and a songwriter, and he's incredibly original. I can't think of another modern pop artist who can hold a candle to him.

Mika understands my pain. This song perfectly describes what my first love, hesitation, desperation, fear and anxiety, and my first heartbreak were all about. These lyrics, and the build-up of the melody and harmony, the way the chorus swells the deeper the song goes -- that was me and my stupid heart. Takes me back; gives me another measure of closure. Okay so I knew of this song before it was shown on Gossip Girl, but I think it's cool that people are getting to appreciate Mika's music through TV.
