In 2000, they signed with the Beastie Boys' label Grand Royal. Mika Bomb performed in the West Country plugging their singles "Super Sexy Razor Happy Girls" and "Heart Attack". They fused Motown, New York punk, 50's garage rock and Japanese pop to form a distinctive, distortion-heavy pop sound.
2001 saw the release of their debut album "The Fake Fake Sound of Mikabomb" on the Damaged Goods label after Grand Royal went bust.
In 2005, they released their second album, "Hellcats", which features a cover of Holly Golightly's "Won't Go Out" with Mika and Holly herself performing a duet on lead vocals.
On December 10, 2005, drummer Ergi fell ill and was rushed to hospital where he was diagnosed as having septicaemia. He survived a week-long, near-fatal coma, but had both his legs amputated below the knee. There are several fundraising events in 2006 to help Ergi cope with the changes in his life, the highlight being a benefit gig at The Garage, Highbury Corner, Islington, London on May 15, 2006.
Sep 2, 2006 in Germany they appeared on Rock my Ass festival, Bamberg, Germany and that seemed to be the last gig for the long time.
In Oct 16 2010 Rotterdam, after 4 years break they had a re-union show in Rotterdam, Netherlands, as a part of Camera Japan Film Festival, followed by 2012 "come-back" on IFFR (International Film Festival Rotterdam), Feb 4.
Mika Bomb is now officially back in action and eager to play more gigs all over the world.
Heart Attack
Mika Bomb Lyrics

I can't pick up the phone
I feel a sudden danger
I think I'm losing control
I get a heart attack
A fucking heart attack
Over you
God, give me a heart attack
A fucking heart attack
Over you
Yeah, I get a heart attack
A fucking heart attack
Over you
God, give me a heart attack
A fucking heart attack
Over you
I saw you at the station
I see you look at your phone
I get a palpitation
'Cause I've been looking for
Someone I can talk to
I get a heart attack
A fucking heart attack
Over you
God, give me a heart attack
A fucking heart attack
Over you
Yeah, I get a heart attack
A fucking heart attack
Over you
God, give me a heart attack
A fucking heart attack
Over you
Why you gotta give me a heart attack?
I get a heart attack over you
Mika Bomb's song "Heart Attack" is a punk rock anthem about the overwhelming and sometimes destructive emotions that can arise in the aftermath of a failed relationship. The lyrics are straightforward - the singer is struggling to move on from their ex-lover and is experiencing intense physical and emotional reactions whenever they encounter reminders of the past. The repetition of the phrase "I get a heart attack" throughout the song reinforces the obsession and longing that the singer feels for their former partner.
The imagery in the lyrics is powerful and visceral. From the opening lines, the singer describes a sense of impending danger and loss of control. The sudden spikes in their emotions lead to heart palpitations and other physical symptoms that can be interpreted as literal or metaphorical heart attacks. The use of profanity in the chorus adds to the raw, intense emotions that the singer is expressing.
One interesting aspect of "Heart Attack" is the contrast between the punk rock sound of the music and the vulnerability of the lyrics. The fast-paced guitar riffs and driving beat create a sense of urgency and energy, while the lyrics reveal the singer's deep pain and longing. The combination of these elements makes for a powerful and cathartic listening experience.
