While recovering from surgery, Stud turned to music to pass the time.
In December 2010, Stud released a music video for "College Humor". Stud stated that he originally made the track as a joke for his baseball teammates. Since its release, the video has been viewed over 2.5 million times (as of April 2021). In March, Stud followed up his hit with "In This Life", which featured West Coast rapper Alex Lagemann.
All three hits were featured on Stud's first mixtape—"A Toast to Tommy"—which he released in October 2011. In August, Stud released another mixtape, Click, as a collaboration with fellow hip-hop artist Huey Mack.
On May 13, 2013, Stud released his debut studio album "Relief".
On July 7, 2014, he released his second album "Closer".
On October 30, 2015, he released an 8-track mini-album "This Isn't the Album", a mix of previously released singles and new tracks.
On January 12, 2016, Stud released his third studio album "These Days", which includes a feature from New York Mets pitcher and former Duke teammate, Marcus Stroman.
Mike most recently starred in a TV show on the Esquire Network called This Is Mike Stud. The show follows him and his crew around on his most recent Back2YouTour. The show premiered Tuesday, June 21, 2016.
In 2017, Stud was featured on "To the Grave" by American singer-songwriter Bea Miller, which is included on her EP "Chapter Three: Yellow" and her second studio album "Aurora".
On November 12, 2018, Stud released his fourth album, 4TheHomies, which included 23 songs and features from Vory and Goody Grace. The album is very special to Stud, as the pinned tweet reads, "Hey guys. I released a new project last night. 23 songs that are basically the last 2 years of my life in music form. I made every song in my house. this shit couldn't be more me. I hope u guys have as much fun listening as we did making it."
In 2018, Stud began his Final Mike Stud Tour, leading many fans to believe it was his last tour ever. He clarified this saying changing his stage name to "Mike" after the tour concluded.[14]

I know you ain't fuckin' with my brother
Well I guess now he's not my brother
Well I guess now I cannot love you
And then you moved away in the summer
Yeah, ayy, uh
I say, one, two, meet me outside
I'm not sure if I got room for you, for you (okay)
Do you fuck with me still?
Not sure that I give a fuck
But I do know I can't give one tonight, tonight (for real)
I'm back on my bullshit
New phone, who's this?
I'm back doin' what I wanna do now
I'm back runnin' 'round with the crew now
I ain't sayin' that I miss you babe
I'm just sayin' I'm glad you made it
I poured you that shit you like (that shit)
You love that, you love that
I ain't sayin' that I miss you babe
I'm just sayin' I'm glad you made it
We don't need to complicate it (we don't)
We love that, we love that (we love that)
We love that, we lovin' that, uh
That strong gas, we puffin' that, uh
I draw you a little bubble bath
Ooh, I like it like that, yeah
I love to make it splash, yeah
She all that, she all that (she all that)
She call but I can't call back (I won't)
Yeah, got a couple bad bitches, might share it tonight
Share it tonight (hey)
I ain't sayin' that I miss you babe
I'm just sayin' I'm glad you made it
I poured you that shit you like
You love that, you love that
I ain't sayin' that I miss you babe
I'm just sayin' I'm glad you made it
We don't need to complicate it
We love that, we love that
Ooh, she from Kansas
I can't stand it, goddamn it (can't stand this shit)
A different planet
That ass right there, another planet
Goddamn it (goddamn it), can't stand it (woo)
But I can't sit 'cause I be standin' tall
I be goin' hard, I be doin' it all (yeah, yeah-yeah)
And I'm not sayin' that I miss you babe
I'm just sayin' I'm glad you made it
I poured you that shit you like
You love that, you love that
I'm not sayin' that I miss you babe
I'm just sayin' I'm glad you made it
We don't need to complicate it
We love that (ayy)
I told you that I'd be fine
I told you I just need time
Got her face outta my head
And the whole thin' off of my chest
Said one, two meet me outside
Three, four girls in my ride
Got a couple bad bitches, might share it tonight
Share it tonight (hey)
I know you ain't forget my number
I know you ain't fuckin' with my brother
Well I guess now he's not my brother
Well I guess now I cannot love you
And then you moved away in the summer (ooh, ooh)
The lyrics to Mike.'s song "2 Birds" seem to be about moving on from a past relationship. The singer sings about knowing that the other person still has his number and wondering if she "still fucks with him." He then admits that he is "back on his bullshit" and out "running around with his crew." Despite this, he also admits that he poured her a drink that she likes and that they share a mutual love of "strong gas" (presumably marijuana).
The chorus of "2 Birds" consists of the singer repeating that he is glad the other person made it (presumably through the summer) and that they don't need to complicate things. He then sings that he has a couple of "bad bitches" who he might share with that night.
In the final verse, Mike. seems to be addressing his own feelings of hurt and betrayal. He reminds the other person that he told her he'd be fine and just needs time, and he expresses relief that he has been able to get her out of his head. Despite this, he still ends the song by acknowledging that she moved away in the summer.
Overall, "2 Birds" is a catchy, laid-back song that explores themes of heartbreak, betrayal, and moving on. While some of the lyrics are vague or open to interpretation, the overall message of the song seems to be one of self-assurance and resilience in the face of adversity.
