Rottweiler
Mike Lyrics

Who the devil on the real side?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, uh
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Heart heavy, tryna pick it up
If I'm ever out the game, who gon' pick it up?
You can tell just by my name that I don't give a-
This shit is really fucked
Tryna take me out the frame of the picture
See these niggas lose their game for the bigger bucks
Thirsty for the dollar and the fixture
I hope, praying really fix your luck
When it's time to get deeper, I be digging dirt
I swear this shit is ugly, niggas switching trust
Can't put shit above me, left a nigga stuck
Don't be sipping bubbly, just be hitting bud, busting it from us
There's too many times I worried they ain't shit but rub
Being harming, smoking potent, that's a different buzz

What, I was in the cut
I was sitting, tell me if I took the drugs
Don't know this shit, sorry, I can't get enough
I can't get enough, uh, I can't get enough
I was in the cut
I was sitting, tell me if I took the drugs
Don't now this shit, sorry, I can't get enough
I can't get enough, I can't get enough
I was in the cut
I was sitting, tell me if I took the drugs

Don't now this shit, sorry, I can't get enough
I can't get enough

Overall Meaning

In Mike's song Rottweiler, he addresses the issues surrounding the rap game and the people in it. He starts off by asking who is on the real side, indicating that there are many people who are fake and untrustworthy in the industry. Mike's heart is heavy, but he tries to pick it up. He then questions who will take over his place in the industry if he ever leaves the game. This indicates the cut-throat nature of the rap game and the need to always be one step ahead. He also mentions that anyone can tell by his name that he doesn't care about anything. Mike views the industry as a messed up place and explains that he has seen its ugly side where people will do anything for money, power and fame. “See these niggas lose their game for the bigger bucks, thirsty for the dollar and the fixture" emphasizes this.

Mike prays for people's good luck as he digs deeper to unveil the dirty secrets of the industry. He has seen people switch sides and break the trust of others. Mike emphasizes that nobody can put anything above him because he is focused on the bigger picture. He has left people behind and he doesn't care about material things as much as other rappers might. The lyrics, “being harming, smoking potent, that's a different buzz” are an indication of how he finds solace in his music and how it is a way to cope with the problems going on around him.

The chorus repeats three times where Mike states that he was in the cut and asks if he took the drugs. He apologizes for not knowing what is going on and indicates that he can't get enough. This can be interpreted in many ways, perhaps Mike is trying to distance himself from the negativity around and focus on his own music.

MIKE your music is truly moving, it inspires me not quite like other music, inspires me to carry on and persevere because “agony is truth it’s our connection to the living”. everyone feels pain the same and despite how low I might feel I am always gonna be above someone else’s situation, when I hear your songs it makes me so grateful to be alive and to have ears that perceive sound in this way and I am grateful that I am not deaf and I am grateful that out of all the billions of people in the world I am among the thousands that listen to MIKE and artists of the like who truly bleed passion and truth into their work because they are in it for more than just money and manipulation of the people, they are in it for liberation of thought for all and reassurance of what are lives are meant to be: enjoyed as much as possible. Peace to you MIKE and sorry for your loss
