Brooklyn (Let 'Em In Studios), draws its influences as much from American indie folk-rock as it does from the swaggering oom-pah and contemplative crooner vocals of 1960s Paris.
"Secret Life" muses about love and loss, supported by a variety of textures and instruments, from lush strings to a single street organ, recorded for the album by Higbee in a small church in France. The custom street organ cardboard music sheet took several weeks to make, by hand. It was adapted for his street organ by Jean Bernard Michau, one of Frances 300 or so street organists.

I didn't see you drift away my love
I don't know many truths
I don't have answers
But I know
I'm in love with you
And baby
I know I started it all
And it doesn't make it right
But you put up a good fight
And isn't that what we always do
So baby
Come back home to me
Be the love of my life
We can be free
You'll see
That I really do
Love you
In the song "Love Letter" by Mike Higbee, the lyrics reflect on the complexities of love and how it isn't always what it appears to be. The first verse talks about the disillusionment with love after realizing that it is not what it was promised to be. The singer acknowledges that he didn't see his lover pulling away from him, and is aware that he doesn't have all the answers when it comes to love, but he knows for certain that he is deeply in love with her.
The second verse addresses the problems in their relationship, with him admitting that he may have caused them. He acknowledges that he didn't catch her when she fell, but she put up a good fight which is something they both tend to do in their relationship. Despite all of this, he pleads for her to come back to him because he truly loves her and wants her to be the love of his life, and they can be free together.
Overall, the song captures the ebbs and flows of a complicated love relationship, with the singer holding onto hope that they will be able to overcome their struggles and be together.
