Shine
Mike Oldfield Lyrics

Shine, shine!
She's my light,
She's my light.
Shine, shine!
I need her light.
She's my light.

All that you need and your desire.
If I'm put to the test,
I believe I couldn't get higher.
Just by being with you,
Pictures flow out of my mind.
Have we danced before
Long ago or in another time?

Because, because
She was, she was
Made in heaven.
She was, she was,
She was a maid in heaven.

All that you need and your desire.
Can we sing to the sunlight?
Play with fire.
Just by being with you
Spins me straight around the moon.
And if our rainbows could dance,
He'd dance for your desire soon.

Because, because
She was, she was,
She was a maid in heaven.
She was, she was,
She was a maid in heaven.

Shine, shine!
She's my light,
She's my light. (She's my light.)
Shine, shine!
I need her light.
She's my light
And a maid in heaven.

Shine, shine!
She's my light,
She's my light.
She was a maid in heaven.
Shine, shine!
I need her light.
She's my light.
Shine, shine!
She's my light,
She's my light. (She's my light.)
Shine, shine!
I need her light.
She's my light.
She was a maid in heaven.

Awesome song ! Jon's voice is one of the bests on the World !

@DallasHammster

The guitar solo seriously rips - one of Mike's best. It was interesting that in a later interview, it was mentioned to Mike that Jon liked everything about the record except the "silly lyrics". That struck Mike as particularly odd, because Jon wrote the lyrics. ^_^

@Speednik

Far from my favourite Oldfield track, but offset by one of the most unusual and astonishing guitar solos I've ever encountered, yet it's a next to anonymous recording even among fans. Good stuff.

@SteveRes

All that we need and desire is your fabulous music, Mike!

@14adela

My favorite artist by far. What a masterful musician and composer. Who else can drift at will so superbly from "prog pop" to hour-long prog instrumentals? Brilliant. On the pop side ranks right up there with the Earth Moving album, Moonlight Shadow, Islands, Discovery . So sad to hear repeatedly that the soon to be released TB4 Intro may be his last music we get to enjoy...... I cannot get his song and Pictures in the Dark anywhere in Canada. Just paid $100 to get The Platinum Collection CD from England....well worth it when it come to Mike Oldfield. I will continue to hope there may be more to come......My first M.O album was Five Miles Out....I remember hearing Taurus II and being blown away....played it five times in a row before I could move on.....there's more going on the first 5 minutes of that song that most bands have in an album, or a career....god bless this man. Thank you Mike for the absolute gift of your music.

@wesseavey
