Perry's musical journey began in 2007 with the release of "Psycadelic," a collaborative effort with Stephan M. In 2012, he continued to make strides in the industry with the release of "Put Me Up," an electronic dance music production on the Mark Brown label, published by CR2 Records. Perry further expanded his repertoire with collaborations such as "We Don't Sleep in the Night" alongside Cecilia Axeland and "Whompin" featuring Filip Jenven.
Transitioning to a "big room" style, Perry remixed Miriam Bryant's "Push & Play" in 2013, showcasing his versatility as a producer. Over the years leading up to 2016, he consistently released music, establishing himself as a notable artist in the electronic music scene.
Perry's breakthrough came in 2016 with the release of his single "The Ocean" on April 15. The track, featuring vocals from Shy Martin, achieved remarkable success, reaching number 1 on the Swedish Singles Chart. It also attained Top 10 positions in several countries, including Austria, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and Switzerland, and reached the Top 20 and Top 40 in various other territories.
Following his breakthrough, Perry released the single "Inside the Lines" on October 21, 2016, featuring vocals by Casso. This track reached number 19 in Finland and number 25 in Sweden. He continued his momentum in 2016 with the tropical house track "Touching You Again," produced in collaboration with Hot Shade, Jane XØ, and singer Phoebe Ryan.
In 2017, Perry announced his forthcoming single "Hands" featuring American singer Sabrina Carpenter and British boy band The Vamps. The track was released later that month, further adding to Perry's discography.
Continuing to release music, Perry dropped singles in 2018, including "California" featuring Hot Shade and Karlyn, and "Don't Hide" with Willemijn May. These tracks achieved chart success in Sweden, reaching number 35 and number 31, respectively.
On January 18, 2019, Perry released "Runaway," which secured the number 1 position in the United States, Chile, and Hungary. In the same year, he collaborated with fellow DJs Ten Times and Dmitri Vangelis, along with vocals from The Companions, for the single "Changes," which reached number 65 in Sweden.
Mike Perry's musical career has been marked by consistent releases and collaborations, earning him recognition in the electronic music scene and building a strong fan base.
Told You So
Mike Perry Lyrics

Wanna say that I miss you
But I don't wanna need to
Be the one to hold on for the longest time
I don't know, I don't mean to
Be so cold when I'm with you
But I know you don't want me not asking why
'Cause you told me so
Used to say we never worked
Say we'll never work it out
But for all we know
I could be the one you want
Singing, "Bleeding Love"
At the top of our lungs at 4 am
Baby why don't we play pretend?
So I can carry you home again
Not as friends, would you go
If I told you so
If I told you so
Wanna say "I don't miss you"
But I don't wanna lie to you
All my days go to waste 'cause of wasted time
You should know that I tried to
Make you want me like I do
But you know you don't want me not asking why
If you don't want this you gotta go
Don't wanna leave you
Don't wanna leave you
'Cause you told me so
Used to say we never worked
Say we'll never work it out
But for all we know
I could be the one you want
Singing, "Bleeding Love"
At the top of our lungs at 4 am
Baby why don't we play pretend?
So I can carry you home again
Not as friends, would you go
If I told you so
If I told you so
Don't wanna leave you
Don't wanna leave you
The lyrics of "Told You So" express the innate struggle of holding onto a relationship that is already lost, while trying to make it work again. The song is about the feeling of missing someone but not wanting to admit it, and the fear of holding on for too long. The opening lines, "Wanna say that I miss you, but I don't wanna need to, be the one to hold on for the longest time" expresses this sentiment perfectly.
The song also talks about the difficulty of accepting the end of a relationship. The lines "Used to say we never worked, say we'll never work it out, but for all we know, I could be the one you want" shows the struggle of wanting to believe that things might still work out, despite the previous failures.
The chorus of the song, "Singing Bleeding Love, at the top of our lungs at 4 am, baby why don't we play pretend? So I can carry you home again, not as friends, would you go if I told you so?" shows the desire to go back to the way things were, pretending to be together again, so that one can hold onto the hope of being together in the future.
Overall, the lyrics of "Told You So" talk about the emotions involved in trying to save a relationship that has already failed, and the fear of being left alone.
