As someone from Detroit, I feel a connection to the city's history with automobile manufacturing and see myself as a determined force for change

The young Detroit legend, I swear I got the city inspired
I believe that my music and actions have been a source of inspiration for young people in Detroit

And bought ? just to solidify it
I invested in something (unclear from context) in order to solidify my connection to the city

D-boy, d-boy, that's how I was raised
Growing up in Detroit, I was exposed to a certain lifestyle that shaped who I am

Boss up and put the city on, forever my ways
I am committed to improving Detroit and putting it on the map in a positive way

Me and ma started charity to give the kids clarity
My mother and I founded a charity to help young people in the city find purpose and direction

And take it further than the foundation we laid
We have ambitious goals for the future of our charity and the impact it can have on the community

Thanksgiving Day parade, I got carried through the city
I experienced a moment of recognition and celebration in my hometown during the popular Thanksgiving Day parade

And after that, I hope I get married in the city
In addition to being buried in Detroit, I hope to also get married there

Even when I'm gone, you still gon' hear me through the city
Even after I am no longer alive, I believe that my legacy and impact will continue to be felt in my hometown
