At age 16, Mike was accepted into Hamilton Music Academy where he began to study music theory and jazz guitar. It was there that Mike learned from the best of the best -- his teachers and fellow classmates with whom he spawned lifelong friendships. As part of this musical “Rat Pack,” Mike began developing skills and relationships that would later guide him in his career as a sought after songwriter and composer for Film, Games, and Television.
In the spring of 1990, Mike was off to Boston via a scholarship to Berklee College of Music to further his studies of music theory, guitar, and ear training. Two years into the program, Mike changed majors from Performance to Music Synthesis - a pivotal move which would allow him to wrap his head around technology, embracing the new age of digital sampling and recording. While at Berklee, Mike again found himself studying with the next generation of top songwriters, composers, and orchestrators.
Upon his return to Los Angeles in 1994, Mike entered the professional world of Music Composition and Sound Design. Hand selected by one of the top Sound FX Designers in the industry, Mike’s talents quickly earned him the position as Sound Designer on blockbuster Feature Films such as Face Off, Flubber, Godzilla, We Were Soldiers, and Black Hawk Down. It was during this next phase of his career that Mike began mastering the art of creating and blending sound textures. After designing sound for several award-winning Interactive Games, as well as Golden Reel and Academy Award nominated Feature Films, the industry turned its attention toward Mike’s musical expertise, and he soon became a sought after composer for film, games, and television.
For the past 12 years, Mike’s original style of blending music, sound design, and technology has been recognized by industry leaders in the Feature Film, Television, and Interactive Gaming Industries. His professional experience as a composer has led him to create award-winning original music for the likes of John Woo, Oliver Stone, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., Jim Henson Pictures, and Walt Disney Pictures, and has garnered a Grammy Award in the Record Industry.
Mike was recently honored as the recipient of the 2006 Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Composition. He also received the 2006 G.A.N.G. award for Music of the Year, and the 2006 Aurora Award for Individual/Creative Achievement for Original Score/Music. Currently Mike is writing original music for highly successful video game properties, as well as composing the music for Nickelodeon’s brand new cartoon series, Wow Wow Wubbzy.

The Glory of Sparta
Mike Reagan Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I've never known before, that makes me love Him more
To die is gain, I am learning through surrender
What it really means to know that I am free
And it's my prayer, I would live each day in such a way
That in all I do I would bring Him praise
For the glory of Christ
I'll lay down everything that I've been given
For what He wants for me
For the glory of Christ
I'll pick up my cross and follow
Wherever He may lead I'll live my life
For the glory of Christ
He knows my heart, He knows I seldom measure up
To what I long to be and what He has for me
I know His grace and I have seen how far His arms will reach
To rescue me from the man that I could be
And it's my prayer that I would live each day in such a way
That in all I do I would bring Him praise
For the glory of Christ
I'll lay down everything that I've been given
All my hopes and my ambitions
For what He wants for me
For the glory of Christ
I'll take up my cross and follow
Wherever He may lead I'll live my life
For the glory of Christ
And when I think of what my life was worth
And how He gave His life to bring salvation to this world
How could I ever offer less than He deserves?
For the glory of Christ
I'll lay down everything that I've been given
All my hopes and my ambitions
For what He wants for me
For the glory of Christ
I'll take up my cross and follow
Wherever He may lead I'll live my life
Wherever He may lead I'll live my life
For the glory of Christ, for the glory of Jesus
For the glory of Christ, for the glory of Christ
For the glory of Christ
The lyrics of Mike Reagan's "The Glory of Sparta" express the singer's deep conviction and dedication to living a life for the glory of Christ. The song begins by proclaiming that the reason for living is Christ, and the passion in the singer's heart makes him love Him even more. The singer acknowledges that to die is gain and is willing to surrender everything for the glory of Christ. He wants to live each day in such a way that in all he does, he brings Christ praise.
The singer recognizes his shortcomings and inability to measure up to what he longs to be and what Christ has for him. However, he knows Christ's grace and how far His arms will reach to rescue him from who he could be. The singer commits to laying down everything he has been given, all his hopes and ambitions, for what Christ wants for him. He picks up his cross and follows wherever Christ may lead, living his life for the glory of Christ. The song concludes with the singer acknowledging the worthlessness of his life compared to what Christ has done for him and wanting to offer nothing less than what Christ deserves.
The song is an expression of the Christian faith's central beliefs, such as surrendering and following Christ, acknowledging grace, and living a life for His glory. The song's lyrics are influenced by the apostle Paul's message in Philippians 1:21: "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."

I wish in God of War 4 they retain that theme when Kratos faces... I don't know the Stranger or Magni & Modi or even Odin.
