Miki Howard Lyrics

Have you anything to say to me?
Won't you tell me where my love can be?
Is there a meadow in the mist
Where someone's waiting to be kissed?
Skylark
Have you seen a valley green with spring?
Over the shadows and the rain
To a blossom covered lane
And in your lonely flight
Haven't you heard the music in the night?
Wonderful music, faint as a will o' the wisp
Crazy as a loon, sad as a gypsy serenading the moon
Oh skylark
I don't know if you can find these things
But my heart is riding on your wings
So if you see them anywhere
Won't you lead me there?
Oh skylark
I don't know if you can find these things
But my heart is riding on your wings
So if you see them anywhere
Won't you lead me there?
The lyrics to Miki Howard's song "Skylark" express the singer's longing for her lost love, asking the bird if it has seen or knows where her lover might be. The opening lines of the song ask the titular skylark if it has any information about where her love might be, followed by a question about whether there is a meadow in the mist where someone is waiting to be kissed. This implies that the singer is searching for a romantic partner, and is hoping that the skylark can offer guidance on where to find them.
The following lines continue the theme of nature as a source of beauty and mystery, as the singer asks the skylark if it has seen a valley green with spring, where her heart can go "a journeying". This points towards a sense of restlessness or wanderlust, as the singer imagines herself embarking on a journey to find love. The final lines of the song suggest that the skylark represents a source of inspiration and hope for the singer, as she places her trust in the bird to guide her towards the love she seeks.
Overall, "Skylark" is a romantic and wistful song that conveys a sense of longing for connection and meaning. Its use of nature imagery and the metaphor of the skylark add to its dreamlike and hopeful tone.
