That's been a-stealin' through my brain is not to be ignored
But to really tell the truth, though I'm not a well-known sleuth
I honestly believe that you are bored
You've changed
That sparkle in your eyes is gone
Your smile is just a careless yawn
You've changed
You've changed
Your kisses now are so blase
You're bored with me in every way
I can't understand
You've changed
You've forgotten the words 'I love you'
Each memory that we've shared
You ignore every star above you
I can't realize you ever cared
You've changed
You're not the angel I once knew
No need to tell me that that we're through
It's all over now
You've changed
You've changed
You're not the angel I once knew
No need to tell me that that we're through
It's all over now, yes, it's all over now
You've changed
The song "You've Changed" by Miki Howard is a melancholic love song whose lyrics capture the feelings of heartbreak and disillusionment a person experiences after realizing their lover is no longer the same person they once knew. The song starts with the singer having doubts about their lover's affections towards them, expressing a feeling that their lover has become disinterested in the relationship. The singer believes that their lover's usual bubbly personality has turned cold, and they speculate that their lover is bored with the relationship. The lyrics "I honestly believe that you are bored" indicate the singer's perception that their lover's disinterest in the relationship has something to do with their change in personality.
The chorus of the song simply repeats the phrase "You've changed" twice, underscoring the overall message of the song's lyrics. The singer feels that their lover's affection towards them is dwindling, and the repeated chorus reinforces this feeling. The stanza that comes after the chorus adds more details to support the singer's suspicions, highlighting how their lover's attitude towards them is different. The singer feels that their lover is no longer as loving or passionate towards them, as shown in the lyrics "Your kisses now are so blase, you're bored with me in every way." The song highlights how memories of good times and love professed are now just ignored by their lover. Ultimately, the last stanza of the song tells the listener that their lover has moved on, and the only thing they can do now is accept it and move on from the relationship.
