Just too see
Your face again
And i
Took a breath of water
Oh to lie
How i said
Where are we now
Because it's not over
Where are we now
Because its not over
Yeah i
I saw lots of things
Frozen lakes
Inside frozen seas
Where are we now
Because it's not over
Where are we now
Because it's not over
The lyrics of Mild Orange's song Where Are We Now? are poetic and deeply reflective in nature. The opening lines suggest a powerful desire to reconnect with someone close to the singer's heart, even if it means venturing out into dangerous, unknown territory. The metaphor of sailing oceans conveys a sense of adventure and risk-taking, indicating that the singer is willing to do whatever it takes to be reunited with this special person.
However, the second verse adds a layer of complexity to the song's meaning. The singer notes that they have "saw lots of things" on their journey, including "frozen lakes" and "frozen seas." These images suggest a feeling of being trapped or immobilized, perhaps stuck in a state of emotional paralysis despite the singer's willingness to take risks and explore new territory.
The refrain, which repeats twice throughout the song, asks a crucial question: "Where are we now / Because it's not over." These lines express a sense of uncertainty and confusion, as if the singer is struggling to make sense of their current situation. Despite their determination and courage, they remain uncertain about their future and whether or not they will ever be reunited with the person they so deeply long for.
Overall, the lyrics of Where Are We Now? are both deeply personal and universally relatable. They express the complexity of human relationships, the challenges of navigating uncertain emotional terrain, and the power of human connection to inspire us to take risks and embark on new adventures.
