It was 1996 , I was 14. Summertime. My parents had just divorced and both disappeared. Me and my brother were left behind alone in a house. I remember this day where I opened the windows and put both speakers facing outside with this album and this tune and went skateboarding in front of my house. It was in the city of Montreal and things were still moving around us. I was wondering what I would become. It was a summertime sadness, full of doubt but hopeful. I still remember the curtains moving in the light summer breeze, the sound of my skateboard wheels. It was a hot day. This song will always be a type of summer sadness... blue in green. 25 years later I never forgot that day. I was trying to process my life events and jazz helps me cope still to this day.

If you like old rap music this song was sampled by J Dilla in 1997 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4MfApWb69g&ab_channel=NuEtik

Sixty years ago, In 1959, I was a senior in high school. My friend, Bob Nalley, bought this record in the only record store in town. I visited him almost daily. Every time I went over, this record was playing. It became a sort of anthem for that time. We joked that the school should have played it at our graduation.
