Today, December 26, 2021, a Sunday after Christmas day, we received the news that Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Mpilo Tutu has passed on at the tender age of 90 years. Tutu the song, Miles the legend, and Arch the icon closes the chapter today but opens another one. Uwile umuth'omkhulu! Rest in Peace, the Arch, a man fit to be the Pope of the Anglican church! Long live Tutu!

Miles hit us in the chest with this! His work is simply outstanding. Marcus Miller had the chance to revive this alongside Al Jarreau and George Benson for a 2005 or 2006 album called Givin' It Up. Al and Marcus wrote lyrics to this, Al sang it, and George threw in his immaculate scats paired with his guitar. It was classically done. RIP Miles and Al.

People indeed make incredible music nowadays, you just need to find it. It doesn't matter which genre, if it's Jazz, Metal, Psytrance, whatever fusion or crazy sub-genre, there is still a lot coming out these days that is worth it.

Now, this was my veryvery first Contemporary Jazz Fusion album I've purchased all by myself...I was 13 years old. It was at a record store called ®WAXIEMAXIE'S located in Bowie, MD. When I saw the album cover & I've heard of Miles Davis, because my parents had alot of his music. So, when I was hanging out with my friends...my choice was between this AbFab Masterpiece by Legendary Miles Davis or a RappaGoGo instrumental 12"inch single by Experience Unlimited (E.U.). With being blessed with the good taste that I obtained from my parents, Sir Miles Davis is what spent my bread on that day. Over 30 years...& I still play that album today. Oh yes...I also still have my RECORD PLAYER too!!! NO REGRETS 🌍🎶🌏🎵🌎🎶

@Rodney Holmes The Beauti'lovely thing about the “Mall Hangouts" from the 1970's-1990's. Even though the locations were rough (a.k.a Landover, Parole Plaza, BoomTown
"R😝ddnicks & Burnout Grezzers" Herald Harbour & Mondawmin...etc.) there now considered National Historical Landmarks. A few of these malls go back to 1900's...the turn of the last 20thCentury!
By 2025, the W.P.A historical society will be interested in hearing & recording our generationXXX's lifetime experiences... We're the brand new American Gothic.
I hope you'll have a chance to share your gröºöºvy lifetime experiences...my sister & I already began writing down our experiences to go along with the awesome music from that time period.
2020 New Era...this is the beginning for all of us.

Mom and pops used to play this album all the time back in the day. Didn't undrstand what i was hearing at the time but as I got older I was able to overstand. Glad to have parents who know good music. Thanks for the link Jazzy. Peace....

First heard this around '87, Never liked Jazz at all, but there was something about this album that kept me listening. This was I think because the other musicians all stood out and had space to be heard, it was a collaboration, and a very good one !

Miles was Truly N a Class of his own, I've been on his trail since the 60s right along with Trane, Dizzy, Dexter, Horace,McCoy,Eddie, Pharoah,Max,Stanley ect ect ect. I wuud B remiss if I didn't admit that N the last few years of his live Most of the credit belongs to G'd who used Cicely Tyson as a Conduit 2 whip him N SHAPE 2 pick up that Trumpet and get busy, and busy he got the story wasn't really told but that's a "THUMBNAIL" sketch of the TRUTH. I must say 4 me 1 of my all time favorites "Kind a Blue" Miles was Unique, those were the REAL DAYS those "CATS" wuud get 2 gether have a JAM SESSION and sometimes cut a ALBUM right there, "REAL JAZZ" UNCUT..!!
