Because the American culture has great difficulty with women being angry, and bc crying for most of us is the only way we're allowed to express rage... And yes, exactly, it is not completely restricted from German or Scandinavian culture either. However, they are the most egalitarian of the androcentric societies on the planet. Right now overall survival is taking more energy which addressing this kind of change would require. As a journalist I have done considerable research in this area over the last decade and you're correct, part of what we need to address is how women are protecting and encouraging the misogyny, not because we consciously want to do so but because we are trained from diapers to do so and are also held accountable to other women to pimp out that same misogyny to other women beginning around the age of 11 or 12. The cost of not doing so is ostracisation, isolation, emotional and psychological hazing, and sometimes physical abuse. That is certainly not true in Germany or the Scandinavian countries, and the extent to which it is not true underlines how egalitarian those areas of Europe are despite that they are still androcentric. There are almost no cultures on the planet that are not androcentric, except for a small area of Tibet and an occasional tribe sitting almost completely outside of modern civilization, for example in the Congo regions. Those areas that Trace the birth of children matrilineally instead of patrilineal. 25,000 years ago we had more matrilineal societies and we also had more partnership societies... what men now think that would look like in their mind is akin to a complete role reversal from androcentric to having women be dominant... the problem with that is that even in partnership or matrilineal societies women were never dominant.. domination is a modern construct, and it speaks to the incredible lack of understanding from men about how women manage and what is important to them, because if they actually realized and understood those things, they would understand that women even in a position of power would never on tgeir worst day treat men the way men have treated women and children on their best day. It is cliche but true, that men are afraid women will reject them, and women are afraid men will kill them, mostly because the latter goes on all over the world every day. If we can't learn from the egalitarians models that exist right now then much of the First World countries beginning with America are likely to fall like Rome did and very swiftly. The first plague was responsible for triggering the fall of Rome after the loss of one third of the population, despite that we seem only to teach in history class about the second plague which came later. But historians tend to agree that the fall of Rome would never have happened without a pandemic occurring like the one we're going through right now. I would like to think that we can navigate this and learn something from it and avoid the fall of Rome but the amount of infighting that is currently going on as a result of the ideological and political division in America in particular, does not suggest we have learned much from history. Nevertheless, I hope we can turn our present course with awareness.🙏
