The duo finished their high school education at Jacob-Grimm Schule. Clemens played in a jazz quartet known as Flown Tones where he played bass guitar. Philipp was a DJ.
Their first single 'Stolen Dance' was released in 2012, topping the charts in countries including Austria, France, Hungary and Switzerland.
In 2013, they released their self-produced album 'Sadnecessary' that was well received, that included the tracks 'Stolen Dance' and 'Down by the River'. The album peaked at number 14 in Germany, and charted at 17 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The band released their second album 'Blossom' on 17 March 2017. Blossom was inspired by the experience Clemens and Philipp had in the last two years and the two different worlds they've jumped into: touring and being home in their private life with family and friends. Lead by the single 'Cocoon', the album also includes 'Bad Things' featuring Izzy Bizu.
In May 2019 the band announced they were producing their third album, which would be titled 'Mind the Moon', recording it at Ocean Sound Recordings in Ålesund, Norway. Three songs from the album, 'Daydreaming' (feat. Tash Sultana), 'The Game' and 'Fado' were released in the months leading up to the album release on 15 November 2019.

Where are you
Come to me
Where are you
Where are you
Where are you
Come to me
Where are you
Where are you
Come to me
Where are you
In the north
Summer sundown
In the north
Summer sundown
Milky Chance's song "Indigo" features a repetitive chorus of "Where are you? Come to me. Where are you?" that sets a poignant tone for the rest of the song. The singer is searching for someone or something, and the phrase is repeated in a way that seems to reflect his growing desperation. The use of repetition as a songwriting technique is powerful because it can create a sense of urgency or restlessness in the listener. The lyrics also suggest that there is some sort of distance or separation that the singer is trying to bridge. The popular themes of love and loss are likely being explored here, as is the feeling of being disconnected, isolated or alone.
The song is further contextualized with the lines "In the north, summer sundown", which creates an atmosphere of a quiet and serene place, perhaps one where the singer might be sitting and waiting for someone to arrive. The contrast between the energetic and upbeat instrumental aspects of the song, which include catchy guitar riffs and percussive beats, and the melancholic and searching tone of the lyrics creates an interesting dynamic. Even the title "Indigo" suggests introspection and contemplation, as the color indigo is often associated with symbols of deep thought or meditation. Overall, "Indigo" is a rich and layered song that utilizes various elements and techniques as the singer reaches out for a connection with someone or something that is missing from his life.

For those that don't understand this mix of english with a very rough german accent:
Where are you?
Where are you?
Come to me

Summer (summah) , sundown

Then he sings some of the song 'Feathery':
They came along and washed my soul so easy
High above myself, but I could hear them anyway
The wind is taking them away so feathery
To show them all the places they can reach.
And it's not too far for them to go and leave
Me all alone like there is no guaranty for such a dream
And they bequeath me a black feather on the way
And I say: Yes, I am a dreamer and these feathers they won't stay
And I will try
Try to hold you
With my arms around your heart
Even though love is going to kill me
I will try...
And I will try
Try to hold you
With my arms around your heart
Even though love is going to kill me
I will try...

It's been a while since I've heard such beautiful music that touches your soul. I'm so happy to have stumbled upon these cats. I hear a touch of Dave Matthews in the music but completely unique with a style all their own.
