The word has already come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe


Inna Ja'alna fi a naqihm aglalan fa hiya ilal azqani fa hum Muqmahum
Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, reaching to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft


Wa ja 'alna mim baini aidihim saddaw wa min khalfihim saddan
And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier


Fa agsyaina hum fa hum yubsiruun
So We have covered them, and they cannot see


Wa sawa′un alaihim a anzartahum am lam tunzirhum la Yu′minun
It is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe


Innama tunziru maittaba az zikra wa khasyiyar-rahmana bil-Ghaib, fa basysyirhu bi magfiratiw wa ajrin kariim
You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and a noble reward


Inna nahnu nuhyil-mauta wa naktubu ma qaddamu wa Asarahum, wa kulla syai'in ahsainahu fi imamim mubin
Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register


Wadrib lahum masalan ashabal-qaryah iz ja′ahal-mursaluun
And present to them an example: the people of the city, when the messengers came to it


Iz arsalna ilaihimusnaini fa kazzabu huma fa 'azzazna bi Salisin fa qalu inna ilaikum mursalun
When We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened them with a third; they said, 'Indeed, we are messengers to you'


Qalu ma antum illa basyarum misluna wa ma anzalar-rahmanu Min sayi′in in antum illa takzibun
They said, 'You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies'


Qalu rabbuna ya'lamu inna ilaikum la mursalun
They said, 'Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you'


Wa ma ′alaina illal-balagul-mubin
And upon us is only [the duty of] clear notification


Qalu inna tatayyarna bikum la'il lam tantahu lanarjumannakum Wa layamas sannakum minna azabun alim
They said, 'Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment'


Qalu ta'irukum ma′akum, a in zukkirtum, bal antum qaumum Musrifun
They said, 'Your omen is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people'


Wa ja′a min aqsal-madinati rajuluy yas a qala ya qaumittabi'ul Mursalin
And there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, 'O my people, follow the messengers


Ittabi′u ma la yas'alukum ajraw wa hum muhtadun
Follow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided


Wa ma liya la a budul-lazi fatarani wa ilaihi turja′un
And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned?


A attakhizu min dunihi alihatan iy yurudnir-rahmanu bi durril La tugni 'anni syafa atuhum syai′aw wa la yunqizun
Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me?


Inni izal lafi dalalim mubin
Indeed, I would then be in manifest error


Inni amantu bi Rabbikum fasma'un
Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me


Qiladkhulil-jannah, qala ya laita qaumi ya'lamun
It was said, 'Enter Paradise'. He said, 'I wish my people could know


Bima gafarali rabbi wa ja′alni minal mukramin
Of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored'


Wa ma anzalna ′ala qaumihi min ba'dhi min jundim minas- Sama′I wa ma kunna munzilin
And We sent not down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so


In kanat illa saihataw wahidatan fa iza hum khamidun
It was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished


Ya hasratan alal-ibad ma yatihim mir rasulin illa kanu bihi Yastahzi'un
Oh, regret over My servants! There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him


A lam yarau kam ahlakna qablahum minal-quruni annahum Ilaihim la yarji′un
Do they not see how many generations We destroyed before them - that they will not return to them?


Wa in kullul lamma jami'ul ladaina muhdarun
But indeed, all of them will yet be brought present before Us


Wa ayatul lahumul-ardul-maitatu, ahyai-naha wa akhrajna Habban fa minhu ya′kulun
And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat


Wa ja'alna fiha jannatim min nakhiliw wa a'nabiw wa fajjarna Fiha minal′uyun
And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs


Li ya′kulu min samarihi wa ma 'amilathu aidihim, a fala Yaskurun
That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful?


Subhanal-lazi khalaqal-azwaja kullaha mimma tumbitul-ardu Wa min anfusihim wa mimma la ya′lamun
Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know


Wa ayatul lahumul-lailu naslaku minhun-nahara fa iza hum Muzlimun
And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness


Wasy-sayamsu tajri limustaqarril laha, zalika taqdirul Azizil-'alim
And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing


Wal-qamara qaddarnahu manazila hatta ′ada kal-urjunil-qadim
And the moon - We have determined for it phases until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk


Lasy-syamsu yambagi laha an tudrikal qamara wa lal-lailu Sabiqun-nahar, wa kullun fi falakiy yasbahun
It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming


Wa ayatul lahum anna hamalna zur-riyyatahum fil-fulkil- Masyhun
And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship


Wa khalaqna lahum mim mislihi ma yarkabun
And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride


Wa in nasya nugrighum fa la sarikha lahum wa la hum Yunqazun
And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved


Illa rahmatam minna wa mata'an ilaihim
Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time


Wa iza qilla lahumuttaqu ma baina aidikum wa ma khalfakum La'alakum turhamun
And when it is said to them, 'Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy'


Wa ma ta′tihim min ayatim min ayati rabbihim illa kanu ′anha Mu'ridin
And there comes not to them any sign from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away


Wa iza qila lahum anfiqu min ma razaqakumullahu qalal-lazina Kafaru lil′lazina amanu anut′imu mal lau ya-sya'ullahu at′amah, in An tum illa fi dalalim mubin
And when it is said to them, 'Spend from that which Allah has provided for you,' those who disbelieve say to those who believe, 'Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error'


Way a quluna mata hazal-wa'du in kuntum sadikin
And they say, 'When is this promise, if you should be truthful?'


Ma yanzuruna illa saihataw wa hidatan ta′khuzuhum wa hum Yakhissimun
They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing


Fa la yastati'una tausiyataw wa la ila ahlihim yarji'un
And they will not be able to give any instruction, nor to their people can they return


Wa nufikha fis-suri fa iza hum minal-ajdasi ila rabbihim yansilun
And the Horn will be blown, and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten


Qalu ya wailana mam ba'asana mim marqadina, haza ma Wa′adar-rahmanu wa sadaqal-mursaluun
They will say, 'O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?' [The reply will be], 'This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth'


In kanat illa saihataw wahidatan fa iza hum jami′ul ladaina Muhdarun
It will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us


Fal-yauma la tzlamu nafsun syai'aw wa la tujzauna illa ma Kuntum ta′malun
So today, no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do


Inna ashabal-jannatil-yauma fi syugulin fakihun
Indeed, the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation


Hum wa azwajuhum fi zilalil 'ala ara′iki muttaki'un
They and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches


Lahum fiha fakihatuw wa lahum ma′yadda'un
For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]


Salaamun Qaulam mir rabbir rahiim
Peaceful is the word from a Merciful Lord


Wamtazul-yauma ayyuhal-mujrimun
And, '[O, disbelievers], wait until the Day of Judgment'


Alam a'had ilaikum ya′ bani adama al la ta′budusy-syaitan, Innahu lakum aduwwun mubin
Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy


Wa ani'buduni. Haza siratum mustaqim
But [I ordered you], 'Worship Me; this is a straight path'


Wa laqad adalla minkum jibilan kasira, a fa lam takunu Ta′qiluun
And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason?


Hazihi jahannamul-lati kuntum tu'adun Islauhal-yauma bima kuntum takfurun
This is Hell, which you were promised. Burn therein today for what you used to deny


Al-yauma nakhtimu ′ala afwahihim wa tukallimuna aidihim wa Tasyhadu arjuluhum bima kanu-yaksibun
This Day We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn


Wa lau nasya'u latamasna ala a′yunihim fastabaqus-sirata fa Anna yubsirun
And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see?


Wa lau nasya'u lamasakhnahum 'ala makanatihim fastata′u Muddiyaw wa la yarji′un
And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return


Wa man nu'ammirhu nunakkishu fil-khalq. A fala ya′qilun
And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation. So will they not understand?


Wa ma 'allamnahusy-syi′ra wa ma yambagi lah in huw illa Zikruw wa Qu'anum mubin
And We have not taught him [Prophet Muhammad] poetry, nor is it suitable for him. It is not but a reminder and a clear Qur'an


Li yunzira man kana hayyaw wa yahiqqal-qaulu ′alal-kafirin
To warn whoever is alive and justify the word against the disbelievers


A wa lam yarau anna khalaqna lahum mimma amilat aidina An'aman fa hum laha malikun
Have they not seen that We created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners?


Wa zallalnaha lahum fa minha rokubuhum wa Minha ya'kulun
And We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat


Wa lahum fiha manafi′u wa masyarib, a fa la yasykurun
And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful?


Wattakhazu min dunillahi alihatal la′alahum yunsarun
But they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that perhaps they would be helped


La yastati'una nasrahum wa hum lahum jundum muhdarun
They are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance


Fa la yahzunka qauluhum inna na′lamu ma yusirruna wa maYu'linun
So let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare


A wa lam yaral-insanu anna khalaqnahu min nutfatin fa iza Huwa khasimum mubin
Does man not see that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary?


Wa daraba lana masalaw wa nasiya khalqah qala may yuhyil-Izama wa hiya ramim
And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, 'Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?'


Qul yuhyihal-lazi ansya′aha awwala marrah, wa huwa bi kulli Khalqin 'alim
Say, 'He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing'


Allazi ja′ala lakum minasy-syajaril-akhdari naran fa iza antum Minhu tuqidun
[It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite


A wa laisal-lazi khalaqas-samawati wal-arda bi qadirin 'ala ay Yakhluqa misla-hum, bala wa huwal-khallaqul-'alim
Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator


Innama amruhu iza arada syai′an ay yaqula kun fa yakun
His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, 'Be,' and it is


Fa subhanal-lazi bi yadihi malakutu kulli syai′iw wa ilaihi Turja'un
So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned
