Performer, singer, and songwriter, Mimicat is inspired by the greatest voices in black music, and in love by the pop hits playing on the radio and MTV when growing up. She has become a combination of a deep soulful voice with catchy melodies, expressed by a “sassy-badass” stage charisma. Both of her studio albums “For You” and “Back In Town” were release by Sony Music Portugal, and 2023 will be the year of a new studio album, combining all these influences that built her. As a first sample she shows “Ai Coração”, a song currently competing in Festival da Canção 2023. Written by Mimicat (Marisa Mena, her birth name) and co-produced with Twins (Luis Pereira). She was and is inspired by the great voices in the Portuguese music scene, mixed in these perfect cocktail of Mediterranean rhythms and a fun, burlesque atmosphere, never forgetting to emphasize that she is a Proud Portuguese woman.
