Lovely Day
Mina Tindle Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You saw thousands of dreams and kept them all
Smiling eyes,
You saw unhappy hands, unanswered calls
They’ve never been proud of the sound of their morning voice
And now they’re gone gone gone
But they have tried tried tried
Silent eyes,
You’ve known plenty of tears but kept them home
Stories they have told,
Blurred memories between their walls
They used to be proud of the sound of their evening songs but now they are gone gone and gone
At least they have tried tried tried
The bell rings…Bom Bom Bom
I know you saw, young hearts you saw, old scars become friends
Stand in your place, painting their face, you know them all
You’ve always been kind with the ones who might have been mistaken
But now you’re gone gone gone because it was time time time
But the bell rings…Bom Bom Bom
In "Lovely Day" by Mina Tindle, the lyrics describe two people who have passed away, one with smiling eyes and the other with silent eyes. The person with smiling eyes had many dreams, but also witnessed unhappiness and unanswered calls. The person with silent eyes had many tears and stories that they kept within their walls. Both individuals were proud of certain aspects of their lives, their morning voices and evening songs, but now they are described as being gone, gone, gone, as time catches up with everyone. Despite this, the lyrics acknowledge that they have tried and that the bell still rings with a sense of finality.
In understanding the lyrics to "Lovely Day," it is important to note the emphasis on the senses. The smiling eyes and silent eyes highlight the importance of observation and perception, while the pride in the sound of morning voices and evening songs draws attention to the auditory. Additionally, the use of the verb "seen" in reference to tears and dreams suggests that both the happy and sad memories are a part of the human experience. Overall, the song captures the fleeting nature of life and the acceptance that everyone will eventually face their end.
