Some Things Last a Long Time
Mina Tindle Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Is still
On my wall
On my wall
The colors are bright
Bright as ever
The red is strong
The blue is true
Your picture
Is still
On my wall
On my wall
I think
About you
Often
Often
I can't forget all the things we did
It's funny
But it's true
And it's true
But it's not funny
Time comes and goes
All the while
I still think of you
Your picture
Is still
On my wall
On my wall
The colors
Are bright
Bright
As ever
Things that we did
All we forget
Some things last a life time
Some things last a life time
The lyrics to Mina Tindle's song Some Things Last a Long Time showcase the enduring nature of memories and the way that time seems to stand still when we think back on moments that have affected us deeply. The singer describes a picture that is still on her wall, even though time has passed, and the colors in the image are still as bright as they were when it was taken. She admits that she thinks about the person in the picture often and can't forget all the things they did together. Even though time has passed and memories have faded, the singer suggests that some things last a lifetime.
The repetition of "Your picture is still on my wall" reinforces the idea that this image has a powerful hold on the singer, even after all these years. The initial use of the phrase suggests a sense of comfort or familiarity, but as it's repeated throughout the song, it takes on additional layers of meaning. The colors of the picture are described as "bright as ever," which implies that the singer is holding onto the memory of the person in the picture as a source of happiness or joy.
