When she was 18, she moved to Nashville, where she was signed by BNA Records (a label of Sony BMG Music Entertainment). Her debut album, Ten Thousand Angels, was released on April 30, 1996, and was certified gold six months later. The album gave her international fame and produced her two biggest hits, “Ten Thousand Angels” and “Guys Do It All The Time”. McCready also appears with Lorrie Morgan, Sara Evans, and Martina McBride on CMT's Girl’s Night Out special. Mindy then released the next year "If I Don't Stay The Night." It spawned 3 singles, "What If I Do", Other Side Of This Kiss", and "You'll Never Know." Overseas "O Romeo" was released. None were very successful. Still the album sold over 500,000 copies, and went Gold. In 1999 McCready released "I'm Not So Tough." The first single released was "All I Want Is Everything." When it failed to break the top 50, BNA Records and Mindy went separate ways, said to be over creative differences. After the split the album received little promotion and became a commercial failure.
In April of 2000, she was signed by Capitol Records. She released a self-titled album with Capitol in 2002 to disappointing sales, and was dropped by Capitol later that year.
McCready was once engaged to actor Dean Cain. In 2005 she appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and spoke of her problems with domestic abuse, depression, and drug abuse. Mindy McCready admitted her ex-boyfriend Billy McKnight had beat her frequently and they had a tumultuous relationship, and that she had tried to commit suicide. She also revealed that she had seen her ex-boyfriend Billy McKnight recently and that she needs help. Her father was on the show and said that she is often in denial about her problems and that he wanted her to get help and supported her. She also spoke of how growing up her mother wasn't very loving and encouraging and as a result McCready suffers from poor self-esteem. She is now known mostly for her trouble with the law. Talking to Oprah Winfrey, McCready hoped that her story would encourage and help others, even if it's only one girl in the world. "You know what we're all hoping?" Oprah said to Mindy. "That you are that girl."
Mindy gave birth to son Zander Ryan McCready on March 25, 2006. On April 9, 2012, McCready gave birth to her second child, a son named Zayne. The child's father, record producer David Wilson, was found dead in his home on January 13, 2013, of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Following Wilson's death, McCready released a statement in which she referred to him as her "soulmate" and "life partner". A little over a month later, on February 17, Mindy committed suicide by the same means.

You're as mad as you can be
I was drinking and talking and you know how that goes
Time just slipped away from me
By the time I knew what time it was
It was too late to call home
Stop carrying on acting like a child
I wasn't doing anything wrong
Guys do it all the time
And you expect us to understand
When the shoe's on the other foot
You know that's when it hits the fan
Get over it, honey, life's a two way street
Or you won't be a man of mine
So I had some beers with the girls last night
Guys do it all the time
I know I left my clothes all over the place
And I took your twenty bucks
No I didn't get the front yard cut
Because I had to wash my truck
Will you bring me a cold one, baby
Turn on the TV
We'll talk about this later
There's a ball game I want to see
Guys do it all the time
And you expect us to understand
When the shoe's on the other foot
You know that's when it hits the fan
Get over it, honey, life's a two way street
Or you won't be a man of mine
So I had some beers with the girls last night
Guys do it all the time
You look like you just took a long look in the mirror
Tell me baby if things don't look a whole lot clearer
Get over it, honey, life's a two way street
Or you won't be a man of mine
So I had some beers with the girls last night
Guys do it all the time
Yeah, guys do it
Yeah, guys do it
All the time, all the time
Yeah, guys do it
Yeah, guys do it
All the time
The song Guys Do It All The Time by Mindy McCready is about the double standards that women face in relationships. The first verse sets the scene for the song, with the singer coming home late after a night with friends, drinking and talking. Her partner is angry and accuses her of not being responsible enough, but the singer points out that men do the same thing all the time and expect their partners to understand. She then goes on to list a number of things she did wrong, such as leaving her clothes lying around and not mowing the lawn, but reminds her partner that he also does things that she has to put up with. The chorus repeats the phrase "Guys do it all the time" to drive home the point that women are held to a different standard than men.
The song speaks to the pressure women face to conform to traditional gender roles in relationships. Whereas men are often expected to go out, drink, and have a good time with their friends, women are supposed to be responsible and always put their partners first. The song subverts this expectation by highlighting the double standard and pointing out that men often don't live up to the same expectations that they have for women.
In addition, Guys Do It All The Time was McCready's debut single as a solo artist and it went on to become a major hit in 1996. The song's popularity helped propel her debut album, Ten Thousand Angels, to platinum status. The song's catchy chorus and relatable lyrics resonated with audiences, particularly women who felt that their experiences were being validated in the song. Interestingly, the song was actually written by a man, Chris Waters, who co-wrote it with Tom Shapiro.

So the story goes, (25) yrs ago today my then girlfriend and myself left our hometown in SW Ohio heading for Gatlinburg Tennessee to be married. Both of us were young and in love and scared at the same time and very broke. We had only $300 to our name but nothing was going to stop us.
So driving down I 75 South our song at that time was Guys Do It All The Time, we played that song for (4) hrs straight. We finally made it to Lake Cumberland where her dad had a nice place on the lake.
We stayed the night there and headed out the next morning to Gatlinburg to get married. We got to the courthouse in Pigeon Forge, paid $36 for our marriage license and then stopped at the Walmart and bought her a ring for $30. The wedding chapel was $100.
So on October 1, 1997 we were married before the eyes of GOD, since that time we have had (3) boys and (2) grandsons.
So every time we hear this song it takes us back to when we were two young lovers who wanted a life together. So here in a couple of days it will be October 1, 2022 our 25th anniversary 🎉
HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY MY LOVE ❤

In my opinion Country Music died around 2004.... and it sure went out with a bang, 90s country ROCKS!!! Today’s crap is awful
@karlc2869
Nope after 2003 ended alongside other music genres, dude.
@shan5963
Agreeeeeed! The 90's were an awesome time for country. After that it just sank to depths so low I honestly don't know how anyone is still listening to the crap on the airwaves now. The majority of the songs are generic covers of songs that were phenomenal back then when they actually made a powerful statement. RIP Mindy, and RIP to ocuntry music when it was at it's peak.
@karlc2869
@@shan5963 Country went downhill after 2003 ended, dude.
@karlc2869
@@shan5963 BTW get lost, dude. You're a nuisance YouTuber.
P.S. Mainstream has been awful from 2004-present. 1970-2003 were the glory years.
Thanks, dude.

I've been a lifelong headbanger with a few secrets (smooth jazz, ABBA, clubbing music... you know, the usual secrets people keep about their type of music.)
But around 1995 I had a good friend introduce me to country... only because he kept hijacking the workshop radio.
I became a fan of Brooks&Dunn, Pam Tillis (loved her music), and my favorite John Michael Montgomery... to name just a scant few of a larger list. (That's okay but I introduced him to Dream Theater and his country butt fell out of his chair when he heard them)
And you are right...I kinda kept up with country music for about 10 years. Don't listen to it any more on purpose. It just wasn't appealing as it was in the 90's.
