Heart Of Stone
Mini Mansions Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Cold hearted from the Western meds, going coast to coast
Deep rooted into madness
Funny, cause she likes to boast
No curing Colonel Mustard, honey
He's beyond pretend
Get chummy with the don't know-bodies

High flying off the vantage ledge
Hoping that you'd float
Fake finger and an old gun slinger
Going haute to broke
No Wooly Bully blunder covers
He's beyond pretend
Dry-heavin' and we all get even, it's the master plan

And I need you to know
My heart ain't made of stone
My heart ain't made for rehashing the past til I explode
And I need you to know
My heart ain't made of stone
My heart ain't made for rehashing the past til I ex-

Whole hearted, Mr. Madness Money
Is a faulty man
Bed buggy and galactic druggy
Headed for Japan
I don't wanna give it up for nothin', living on the mend
Mouth breathin' and we all get even, it's the master plan

And I need you to know
My heart ain't made of stone
My heart ain't made for rehashing the past til I explode
And I need you to know
My heart ain't made of stone
My heart ain't made for rehashing the past til I explode
And I need you to know
My heart ain't made of stone
My heart ain't made for rehashing the past til I explode
And I need you to know
My heart ain't made of stone
And I need you to know
My heart ain't made of stone
And I need you to know

My heart ain't made of stone
My heart ain't made...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Mini Mansions's song Heart Of Stone paint a picture of desperation, madness, and loneliness. The song seems to be narrated by a character who is disillusioned and alienated from society. The first verse describes Colonel Mustard, who is beyond pretending and cannot be cured. The second verse introduces Mr. Madness Money, a faulty man who is headed for Japan. The lines "Going haute to broke" and "living on the mend" suggest that these characters are on a downward spiral and are trying to maintain a facade of success and power.

The chorus is a plea for understanding and acceptance. The singer insists that their heart is not made of stone and cannot handle the weight of constantly rehashing the past. The repetition of the phrase "And I need you to know" emphasizes the singer's urgency and desire for connection.

Overall, the lyrics of Heart Of Stone suggest a feeling of isolation and desperation in the face of societal pressures and expectations. The characters in the song seem to be struggling with their own inner demons, unable to find a way out of their madness and into the light.

Alex Turner is simply my favorite singer, and Vertigo is such a good song but i think Mini Mansions should be known for songs like this! As an Arctic Monkeys fan, i know lots of people only listened to Vertigo because of Alex. BUT COME ON, MINI MANSIONS ARE A VERY GOOD BAND WITH OR WITHOUTH ALEX!!! Give them a chance.

I said I'd wake up at 3 AM for this...I regret not actually doing that. This is brilliant.

Surely I'm not the only one that hears John Lennon and Beatles in this track. Like a track that would be off of White Album. No?

Kevin Mac

They have quite a few nods to the Beatles. “You say goodbye, I say hello”....I love it.
