Things Remain The Same
Minimum Serious Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've been taking all my time
I've been searching in the past
I've been drinking, realizing
Tomorrow never last

I've been wasting all your noise
I've been acting like an ass
I've been drinking, realizing
The time is gone too fast

Did you feel the same when you were on your way ?

I've been trying to make you stay
Now I'm drinking my blues away
I've been dreaming of the time
We used to finish ( each on others )

I've been taking all my time
I've been searching in the past
I've been drinking, realizing
Tomorrow never last

Did you feel the same when you were on your way ?

'Cause I've been told that you were down
Should I be the one to blame
And when I call you're not around
Will I ever feel the same
And you know, you true the lying
And our passion fading away
You know I mean the ( bine )
Now I'm leaving from day to day

Did you feel the same when you were on your way ?

'Cause I've been told, you were down
Should I be the one to blame
And when I call, you're not around
Will I ever feel the same
And you know you true the lying
And our passion fading away
You know I mean the ( bine )
And now I'm leaving from day to day

I've been taking all my time
I've been searching in the past
I've been drinking, realizing
Tomorrow never last, never last...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Things Remain The Same" by Minimum Serious are a reflection on the past and a realization that time is fleeting. The artist has been taking their time and looking back at their life, possibly with some regret. They mention drinking and realizing that tomorrow never last, suggesting that they have been trying to escape their thoughts and feelings through alcohol. The artist also seems to be aware that they have treated others poorly, as they mention wasting someone's noise and acting like an ass. The repeated question, "did you feel the same when you were on your way?" suggests that they are wondering if the person they are addressing has also experienced similar emotions and regrets.

The artist then reflects on trying to hold onto someone, but ultimately failing. They dream of the time when they were close and finishes each other's sentences, but now they are drinking their blues away. They also mention being told that the person they are addressing was down, but questioning if they are to blame. The line "you know I mean the ( bine )" is not entirely clear, but it could be a reference to "biner", which means to waste or throw away. The artist may be acknowledging that they have wasted their relationship with this person, and that their passion is fading away.

Overall, "Things Remain The Same" is a contemplative and somewhat melancholic song about looking back on the past and realizing that time is fleeting. The artist is grappling with regrets and trying to make sense of their past mistakes, while also acknowledging that some things are beyond their control.

My husband and I had a re-set when our last child moved out of the house. We sold our 4 bedroom house and bought our “retirement house” that was half the size. We got rid of 85 percent of our stuff easily. 15 truck loads donated, 12 trash and 12 to consignment. This felt so so refreshing. A new start. Two years and still minimal and loving it!!
