Combining a passion for J.K. Rowling and the wonders of the digitial age, Ministry of Magic presses the genre of wizard rock into a newer, less visited world: wizardtronic. The music of MoM is a tapestry of orchestra, pop, rock, dance, and hip-hop carefully woven to create a full sensory experience for the type of fan attracted to wizard rock: imaginative, discerning, and filled with an appetite for something more than just the middle of the road.
They were signed to Indytronic Records until that label's dissolution. As of 2010, they have released five albums -- four LPs and an EP. The Triwizard Lp (2007), Goodbye Privet Drive (2008), Acoustiatius (EP, 2008), and Onward and Upward were released under Indytronic Records, and their latest offering, Magic is Might (2010), was released independently. In addition, members Mark Jennings and Jason Munday, along with Jeremy Jennings, worked on a side project under the name "Muggle Relations". Their lone EP to date is titled "I Must Not Tell Lies" (2009).
They have collaborated with a few wizard rock artists such as The Remus Lupins, Kristina Horner from The Parselmouths and The Moaning Myrtles. MoM was also featured on 'Jingle Spells' and 'Jingle Spells 2', two charity compilation albums to raise money for Book Aid International.

It's gonna be a different year
This is not the place for fear
I've got a job to do.
Time to empty out my trunk
No more use for all this junk
*Bridge (Aaron)
Hermione will be there
Thank god for Ron as well
But in the end I know it's me
Yeah, in the end it's me.
*Chorus (Luke)
Now I'm finally on my own
So far away from home
And I'm fighting all alone
I've got no place to call my own.
*Verse 2 (Kristina from The Parselmouths)
This is not just your burden
It's the definition of a friend
Got all we need in my bag.
When ron had to run and hide
And I was broken up inside
Still got a job to do now.
*Chorus (Luke)
Cuz I'm finally on my own
So far away from home
And I'm fighting all alone
I've got no place to call my own.
*Bridge 2 (Aaron)
I was weak and I messed up
But now I'm here to fight
My deluminator has led me back.
*Break (Luke)
I was prepared to fight alone
All by myself in the unknown
But my best friends would not allow it.
*Bridge (Aaron)
Now we've got a job to do.
Whoaaaa
And now we've got a job to do.
*Chorus (Triwizards)
Cuz we're finally on our own
We've made this place our home
Now I'll never be alone
We've got this place to call our own.
Finally on our own
Far away from home
Never be alone
Call our own
The song "Goodbye Privet Drive" belongs to the American wizard rock band Ministry of Magic, and it talks about the beginning of a new year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The song starts with Jason, the lead singer, mentioning that it's going to be a different year and that he's not going to feel fear anymore. He has a job to do, meaning that he has a purpose for the new year. Then, in the chorus, Luke sings that he's alone, far away from home and has no place to call his own, emphasizing the feeling of displacement Jason experiences in the beginning.
In the second verse, Kristina from The Parselmouths sings that this is not just Jason's burden but it's the definition of a friend, and they have all they need in their bag. Again, emphasizing the feeling of not being alone but together. The bridge two talks about how Jason messed up in the past, but he's now here to fight and has a tool, the deluminator, which has led him back to his friends.
One of the interesting things about the song is that there are three different bridges by three different singers, which indicates that the song was written collaboratively by several members of the band. Another interesting point is that the song is written in a storytelling style and each verse is sung by a different singer, which creates a nice variety in the vocals.

So far away from home
This journey is taking us away from our comfort zone

I've got no place to call my own.

When Ron had to run and hide
Our friends may face moments of weakness or fear

Still got a job to do now.
But we must keep moving forward and fulfill our duty
I was weak and I messed up
We may have made mistakes, but we must learn from them
But now I'm here to fight

We have the ability to find our way back and keep fighting
I was prepared to fight alone
We thought we had to face this challenge independently
All by myself in the unknown
But we were wrong, and our friends are with us
But my best friends would not allow it.
Our friends will always support and stand by us
Now we've got a job to do.
Together, we have a bigger mission to fulfill
We've made this place our home
We have found comfort and belonging in this new challenge
Now I'll never be alone
We realize that we are never truly alone
We've got this place to call our own.
And we have created a new sense of home and belonging
Finally on our own
We are independent and empowered
Far away from home
But we embrace this new journey
Never be alone
Our friends are with us every step of the way
Call our own
And we have created something new and meaningful

I like how Hermione puts a positive spin to Ron's leaving.-- "Ron has to run and hide."

"So far away from home, no place to call my own."
I love that line as it points out that, despite the bad days he has had, Privet Drive was still a home to Harry.

@Hufflepup I know, but I still think he saw some for of home in Privet Drive, as he still had family there.
Hufflepup
For Harry home could refer to the Burrow..or Hogwarts itself as well.
