The first record, ''Walking Home From Nicole's'', was released one year later with significant help from singer/songwriter Karen Jo Fields.
In November 2001 the band saw the addition of guitarist Jon Arild Stieng and the duo went on tour for the first time in the spring of 2002. Berczelly left the band and concentrated full-time on producing, which he has done for the band ever since.
The band's next album ''If I Told You'', ''You Were Beautiful'' was recorded in Stieng's house in Oslo that same summer, and was released in October. For the upcoming tour of spring 2003 keyboardist Harald Sommerstad joined, and the band was now a trio.
Prior to the Norwegian Quart-festivalen the same year, the band was extended further by drummer Halvor Høgh Winsnes (Fast Winston Doom of Thulsa Doom) and bassist Henrik Widerøe. The band was complete and in the late summer "Up For You & I" was recorded at Sommerstad's cabin near Halden in the south of Norway. The album was released in January 2004, and was an immediate success, boasting 24 weeks on the official Norwegian albums chart, a gold record and numerous price award nominations for best Norwegian pop album of the year.
After the following tour of more than 100 gigs both nationally and abroad (France, Switzerland and Germany), the band spent the greater part of 2005 in Berczelly's studio, and released their fourth album 'Reasons To Hang Around' in January 2006. For it, they were awarded the Norwegian Grammy equivalent Spellemannsprisen.
2007 saw the release of 'Candy Store', a compilation featuring 2 discs, the first one containing a selection of the band's favourites and the second one containing previously unreleased material. After the release of the album, the band embarked on a Norwegian tour in September, followed by tours of Germany, France and Switzerland during the first four months of 2008.
In 2009 the band released 'Either Way I Think You Know'. The music featured on this album has been compared to the works of Tindersticks and Midlake. After touring to promote the album, Minor Majority went on hiatus.
Leader Pål Angelskår decided to focus on his solo career and released 2 albums in 2012 and 2015.
Minor Majority returned with their first album in 10 years in 2019 entitled 'Napkin Poetry'.
It was followed by 'The Universe Would Have to Adjust' in 2021, the band's seventh studio album.

Minor Majority Lyrics

She's not coming over
Not even dropping by
And I don't need no other friend
Don't want no other lover
Not as long as she's around
So you've seen me on my knees
Surrounded by memories
It's the one thing you can't have
You've been watching me crawl
The least you could do is call
Or have the curtisy to call back
This time. this time. this time. this time...
And everywhere I go
Everyone I get to know
They all seem to drop out
Baby, won't you come back
Just to show me around?
Time is running out
She's not coming over
Not even dropping by
And I could use another friend
Someone elses shoulder
Someone elses hand
This time. this time. this time. this time.
And everywhere I go
Everyone I get to know
They all seem to drop out
Baby, won't you come back
Just to show me around?
The lyrics to Minor Majority's "This Time" speak to the pain of unrequited love and the desperation that arises when one's efforts to maintain a connection with a former lover go unanswered. The singer's internal monologue reveals their deep longing for the absent lover and their profound sense of loss in their absence. The repetition of the phrase "this time" suggests a futile hope for a change in circumstances, as if the singer is trying to convince themselves that perhaps this time things will be different and their love will be returned.
The verse "So you've seen me on my knees / Surrounded by memories / It's the one thing you can't have" speaks to the idea that memories are a powerful force that cannot be taken away or replicated by anyone else. The singer is acknowledging the power of their shared memories with their lost love while also reinforcing the fact that those memories belong to them alone and cannot be shared or replaced.
The chorus "And everywhere I go / Everyone I get to know / They all seem to drop out / Baby, won't you come back / Just to show me around?" highlights the singer's isolation and desperation for connection. It's clear that they are struggling to move on from their past relationship and are constantly seeking out new people in the hopes of finding someone who can fill the void left by their ex.
Overall, the lyrics to "This Time" are a poignant and relatable reflection on the pain of lost love and the difficulty of moving on from a past relationship.

Time is running out
I am running out of time to see her
She's not coming over
She is not coming over to my place
Not even dropping by
She is not even dropping by for a short time
And I don't need no other friend
I do not need any other friend besides her
Don't want no other lover
I do not want another lover except for her
Not as long as she's around
As long as she is present, I do not want anybody else
This time. this time.
I hope she'll come to me this time
So you've seen me on my knees
You have seen me when I was down
Surrounded by memories
Memories are surrounding me and making me weak
It's the one thing you can't have
She cannot have my memories
You've been watching me crawl
She has been seeing me struggle and trying to get by
The least you could do is call
She could at least call me
Or have the curtisy to call back
She should have the decency to call me back
And everywhere I go
Everywhere I visit
Everyone I get to know
Everyone I try to get closer to
They all seem to drop out
They all seem to leave me
Baby, won't you come back
I want her to come back to me
Just to show me around?
I want her to show me around and be with me again
And I could use another friend
I could use someone else to talk to
Someone elses shoulder
I need someone else to cry on
Someone elses hand
I need someone else's hand to hold
This time. this time. this time. this time...
I hope she will come to me every time
