One thing I love about this song is that Gav gives the Darkness and Jackie distinct "voices", and at the end, the voices meld into one. I suppose that's to symbolize that, in the narrative of this song, Jackie has either given up fighting or the Darkness has fully conquered his free will. Mind you I haven't played this second game so I don't know the in game story. Just a nice touch from Gav I always love seeing.

Til I read the lyrics, I always thought it was

I thought he was singing about allowing himself to be merged with the darkness rather than fight it to achieve his goal.
