Pitchfork has praised her “incredible voice—a versatile coo that can flit from low, sultry tones to high, airy falsetto in one breath.”
Mirah has collaborated with a range of artists, from multi-media artists and orchestral composers to DJs, Baltic music enthusiasts, and entomologists. A partial list of some of her collaborators includes Phil Elverum (The Microphones/Mount Eerie), Merrill Garbus (tUnE-yArDs), Tara Jane O’Neil, Khaela Maricich (The Blow), Susie Ibarra, Melanie Valera (Tender Forever), Jherek Bischoff, Lori Goldston, Britta Johnson and Ginger Brooks Takahashi.

Her more recent albums...are mature, complex and immaculately-produced."
In 2020, Mirah announced signing with Brooklyn-based indie label Double Double Whammy.

The Garden

I just want to sing
I love you baby
Won't you bring
All the flowers you
Find out in the garden
Don't tell me the truth
That your heart has hardened
But you don't want me anymore
How can it be
Look what you've done to me
Oh oh
Oh oh the bee does quickly sting
I was wondering
If you could maybe darling
Think? I'd give everything
If you'd grant my love a pardon
And all the fruits
Again would fill the garden
But you don't want me anymore
How can it be?
Look what you've done to me
Oh oh
Oh oh, oh oh oh oh (and so on)
The Garden by Mirah is a love song that expresses the desire to return to the beginning of a relationship, when everything was blooming and flourishing. The singer in the story is portrayed as someone who yearns to be with their lover after experiencing a heartbreak that left them feeling empty. The lyrics speak of a past relationship with someone who doesn't love them anymore, and they wish for their lover to return to them and bring back the happiness they once shared.
The singer asks their lover to bring all the flowers they can find in the garden, pleading with them not to tell the truth about their hardened heart. They acknowledge that their love has caused them to be hurt, but they still hold on to the hope that their lover will reconcile with them. They go on to compare the quick sting of a bee to the pain they feel from the absence of their lover, wishing for a pardon for their love and for the fruits to fill the garden once again.
The repetition of "Oh oh" in the lyrics reinforces the singer's deep longing for their lover and the desperation they feel to revive their relationship. The song evokes feelings of nostalgia and regret, painting a picture of a beautiful garden that has withered away due to the absence of love.
