Somebody Else
Miranda Lambert Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Highway 65 sure sounds kinda nice
I feel like driving somewhere far away
I've got the top rolled down
The radio way up loud

Playing Willie and old Hank
I don't really have a certain destination
I'll just fill the gas tank up
And use my imagination

I want to feel my freedom blowing through my hair
Throw my troubles to the wind
And scream out I don't care
I'm tired of being down and out

'Cause that ain't what life should be about
I can feel the load get lighter with every mile
I want to be somebody else for a little while
Sometimes we?re afraid to change

Scared of what tomorrow brings
Same routine everyday
If you never stop and listen
You won't know what you'll be missing

Let your life slip away
I want to feel my freedom blowing through my hair
Throw my troubles to the wind
And scream out I don't care

I'm tired of being down and out
'Cause that ain't what life should be about
I can feel the load get lighter with every mile
I want to be somebody else for a little while

I want to feel my freedom blowing through my hair
Throw my troubles to the wind
And scream out I don't care
I'm tired of being down and out

'Cause that ain't what life should be about
I can feel the load get lighter with every mile
I want to be somebody else for a little while
Stay up all night and sleep all day

And wake up with a smile
I want to be somebody else for a little while

I love this song!❤ I'm a huge Miranda fan! But unlike people that are star struck by any celebrities, I always see her as if she wasn't one. Like a neighbor next door. She's a person like us. She has celebrations & hard times. That's why I love everything about her. She writes & sings her songs that we all relate to! This song describes every word about me! I have a few chronic illnesses, so it's this song that gets me through the day, everyday! I doubt she sees our comments. She's a busy woman. I wish there was a way that she would know how much she saves my life through this song & 100's of her other ones. If it wasn't for her raw truth songs, I'd just stay in bed, only to get up for the few things we all do, then get straight back to bed! Thank you Miranda!💯❤

Sometimes I wanna be somebody else. That or the situation and the peopl3 around me need to change. At the moment I'm struggling to go to work because it's not I want to do not is the pay good. I want to work in a hospital as a registered nurse which I am but everywhere has rejected my application. Maybe if I were someone else I would get a good job. Until I get a good job, thankfully I have this song.
