Gush Forth My Tears
Miranda Sex Garden Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

gush forth my tears
and stay the burning
of my poor heart
or her eyes
choose you whether
o' peevish fond desire
alas my sighs
sighs out
still blow the fire

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Miranda Sex Garden's song "Gush Forth My Tears" depict a desperate plea from the singer to stop the intense pain and longing in their heart caused by unrequited love. The first line urges tears to flow, likely as a means of catharsis, in hopes of quieting the burning sensations. The following line offers a possible alternative, pleading for the object of affection's eyes to refrain from adding fuel to the fire. The singer recognizes their own "peevish fond desire," acknowledging the irrationality of their emotions, yet unable to quell them.

Miranda Sex Garden - Gush Forth My Tears

Gush forth my tears
And stay the burning
Of my poor heart
Or her eyes
Choose you whether
O' peevish fond desire
Alas my sighs
Sighs out
Still blow the fire

Gush forth my tears
And stay the burning
Of my poor heart
Or her eyes
Choose you whether
O' peevish fond desire
Alas my sighs
Sighs out
Still blow the fire

For those wondering just how this promo was shot — it was filmed during the renaissance in the autumn of 1569 by Doctor Who — using the popular Alexa XT Steadycam set up. Post production & editing were later done inside the Tardis itself. Singer Jocelyn West (recruited from the nearby castle) did her own hair & makeup, and tea throughout the day plus all the location facilities in the forest, were provided by a local druid faction.
