In 1991 he jumped onto the booming German techno wave. After a period of time as a party animal, he felt like trying to develop the trance and techno scene himself. He bought music equipment and began to work in his own studio.
In 1994 he released his first vinyl through the German underground label Raindrop. At the same time he met Ralph Kyau (the future owner of Euphonic) who also released his first record on a sub-label of Raindrop. They soon became friends.
Disappointed of the work of Raindrop, Kyau started his own label titled Harmony Recordings. Through that label Mirco released his Romance EP, his first EP as Mirco de Govia.
When Kyau and Steven Moebius Albert started their label Euphonic in 1997, Mirco decided to restart his musical career. In the following years mirco produced a few compilation tracks and his first Euphonic single, Clubspring Meets Mindspring, in 2000.
In 1999 mirco composed Epic Monolith as compilation track. Euphonic had the plan to release it as single, so Mirco reproduced the tune, working alongside Ronski Speed and Rough Mullar. In 2001 Epic Monolith became a Europe-wide club-hit, played by practically every important trance DJ. Xtravaganza signed the track one year later. The track soon entered the UK dance and sales charts.
The advent of his latest album, Chronoscale, was in November of 2003.

Visite de Frollo à Esmeralda
FROLLO
Je suis prêtre et je viens te préparer à mourir
ESMERALDA
J'ai froid, j'ai faim, laissez-moi sortir
Je n'ai rien fait contre personne
FROLLO
Ecoute la cloche qui sonne
Il est cinq heures du matin
Bientôt s'ouvrira cette porte
Dans une heure tu seras morte...
ESMERALDA
Dans une heure je serai bien!
FROLLO
On verra bien si tu danses
Encore devant la potence
ESMERALDA
Qu'est-ce que je vous ai fait
Pour que vous me haïssiez?
FROLLO
Ce n'est pas de la haine
C'est que je t'aime
Je t'aime!
ESMERALDA
Mais qu'est-ce que j'ai dont fait
Pour qu'ainsi vous m'aimiez
Moi pauvre gitane
Et vous curé de Notre-Dame
The above lyrics are from the French musical Notre-Dame de Paris by Luc Plamondon and Richard Cocciante. In this particular song, "Visite de Frollo à Esmeralda," Frollo, the archdeacon of Notre-Dame, visits Esmeralda, a young gypsy woman, in prison. Frollo tells Esmeralda that he is there to prepare her for death as she is due to be executed soon. Esmeralda pleads with him to let her go, saying that she has done nothing wrong, but Frollo reminds her of the bell tolling at 5 am indicating that she has one hour left to live.
Esmeralda expresses her desire to die, which seems to take Frollo by surprise. He then threatens her that if she dances again in front of the gallows, he will make sure she does not enjoy her death. Esmeralda, confused, asks Frollo what she has done to make him hate her so much. Frollo responds by saying that he does not hate her, but rather loves her. This statement only makes Esmeralda more perplexed, as she reminds Frollo that she is just a poor gypsy and he is a respected priest of Notre-Dame.
The song is a powerful portrayal of the obsessive and destructive love that Frollo has for Esmeralda, and how this love has led him to a sense of madness and irrational behavior. Frollo is torn between his love for Esmeralda and his sense of duty as a priest, which only adds to the tragic nature of the story.
Overall, the song is a hauntingly beautiful portrayal of two very different characters and the complicated relationship that forms between them.
