Zen
Miser Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's the end of the beginning
All I want is to begin again
Now it's over
I'm cold and I'm sober
And we are so far from Zen
Free me
Free me this time
Leave me
Leave me to unwind
So far away so far away
Without you it cannot be the same
I wish I could see the future
I'd put myself in the same place again
With the memories of you behind me

I can be who I was back then
Don't wait

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Miser's song Zen tell the story of someone reaching the end of a journey and longing to start anew. They are sober and cold, far from a sense of peace and clarity. The singer wants to be freed from their current state, to unwind and escape. They feel that without a specific person, things cannot be the same, but they also wish they could see the future so that they could return to a previous version of themselves. There is a sense of urgency in the final line, "don't wait," suggesting that time is running out for the singer to make a change and start over.

The song captures the feeling of being lost or disconnected, and the desperation to find a new path or a sense of purpose. The repetition of "so far away" emphasizes the distance between the singer and their desired state, while the line "with the memories of you behind me, I can be who I was back then" suggests that the singer needs to let go of the past in order to move forward. Ultimately, the song is about the desire to find inner peace and a sense of direction in life.

Ahhh I miss Coach's voice. I have many Miser memories from my bar-hoppin' days in Dallas. I have quite a bit of their music and if I can find the time to go through old bins I will upload. Miser is a mix of the old Supercell band. #RIPJason

It's been years and years since I binge listened to this song but all of a sudden when trying to find some music to make my own chicken spaghetti recipe I was about to search Zen music and thought of this.
Searched zen rock song and found it!
