Misha B has been compared to several female artists, including Missy Elliott, Chaka Khan, Jennifer Hudson, Nicki Minaj, Tina Turner, Grace Jones and Eartha Kitt."People do compare me to various different people," she said. "Like, I get Missy Elliott a lot, which I think is just a lazy comparison. She's great, she's one of my main inspirations, but our styles are different." Misha B told So So Gay Magazine that her biggest musical influences were Missy Eliott, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson (other musical influences include James Brown, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé Knowles, and Labrinth).
Bryan spoke of the influences of growing up in Moss Side, Manchester, saying in an interview:
Music is just something that I grew up literally living as part of daily life... Like we have our carnival every year which everyone looks forward to. Plus in the summer as well we also have these big parades that go on from early morning to the end of the day where you hear music just blasting from so many different places! They have the soca, the dancehall, the pop, the reggae, the bashment - you know, basically just everything you can think of!... Then growing up in my household was very, very soul heavy. So when you add all that together, I guess that’s where my influences come from. Like right now as I’m talking to you, I’m having this very, very big flashback where I'm remembering watching the Jackson 5 movie as a child over and over again - which is probably why Michael Jackson is my greatest inspiration.
In another Interview for this is local london:
"Reggae is a style close to my heart, and I love to draw on my Jamaican roots. So Drums and rhythm are a real priority to me, but it’s not just about the beat.
"Lyrics are equally important, and everything I write comes from real life experience and is from the heart. "
Bryan told MTV "I just can’t wait for people to hear my other music and then to be able to say 'That’s Misha B’s style'." Bryan has said that her music style can best be described as "free", and that she does not want to be boxed in by any one style. Bryan was nominated in the "Best Newcomer" category of the 2012 MOBO Awards, performing live at both the nomination and awards ceremonies. The Telegraph has noted that Bryan delivers "impressive soulful vocals and a quirky rapping style" to the tracks she has covered; often injecting well-known songs with a "fresh UK urban twist", this has been noted in various performances including Aretha Franklin's "Respect" and Adele's "Rolling in the Deep". On September 12, 2012, Bryan released a video cover of her rendition of Alicia Keys' track "Girl on Fire" on YouTube. SoulBounce commented that it was an example of an "awkward moment when someone sings your new song better than you...accompanied only by an acoustic guitar Bryan delivers a moving ballad full of soul and urgency." FemaleFirst described Bryan as "a completely unique and diverse artist", with EntertainmentWise commenting that her acoustic performances were "powerful" and "versatile".

Beneath Your Beautiful
Misha B Lyrics

Makes you feel good, yeah.
I know you′re out of my league
But that won't scare me away, oh, no
You′ve carried on so long,
You couldn't stop if you tried it.
You've built your wall so high
But I′m gonna try
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful?
Would you let me see beneath your perfect?
Take it off now, girl, take it off now, girl
I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight?
You let all the girls go
Makes you feel good, don′t it?
Behind your Broadway show
I heard a boy say, "Please, don't hurt me"
You′ve carried on so long
You couldn't stop if you tried it.
You′ve built your wall so high
That no one could climb it,
But I'm gonna try
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful?
Would you let me see beneath your perfect?
Take it off now, boy, take it off now, boy
I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight, oh, tonight?
See beneath, see beneath,
I...
Tonight
I...
I′m gonna climb on top your ivory tower
I'll hold your hand and then we'll jump right out
We′ll be falling, falling but that′s OK
'Cause I′ll be right here
I just wanna know
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful?
Would you let me see beneath your perfect?
Take it off now, girl, take it off now, girl (take it off now, boy, take it off now, boy)
'Cause I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight, oh, oh, oh, tonight?
See beneath your beautiful, oh, tonight.
We ain′t perfect, we ain't perfect, no.
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight?
The lyrics of Misha B’s “Beneath Your Beautiful” speak about the desire to see beyond surface-level perfection in a person. The first verse speaks to the singer’s recognition that the subject of the song is out of their league, but that they won’t be scared away by that fact. The lyrics of the chorus ask the subject if they will allow the singer to see beneath their perfect exterior and if they would be willing to let go of their walls, so the singer can see who they truly are.
The second verse shifts the perspective, with the singer acknowledging that the subject puts up walls to keep people at bay. The second chorus echoes the first, with lyrics about wanting to see beneath the surface to the person beneath. The bridge talks about climbing the subject's “ivory tower” and taking a leap with them, even if they fall, as long they do it together. The song’s lyrics are an ode to vulnerability and the willingness to open oneself up to show their true selves.

There are very few songs out there with emotions being carved into words. Songs with an emotional depth and songs that can actually touch your soul. This is one of them. We all know that at some point or the other we have been through all this. I am someone who really needed these words. Thank you!
