Miss Saigon [Original London Cast] Lyrics

Kim
Kim
Chris
What have you done Kim?
Why?
The gods have guided you to your son
Chris
Please don't die
Kim
Hold me, one more time
How in
One night
Have we come
So
Far
The Finale of Miss Saigon's Original London Cast soundtrack is an emotional and poignant moment in the musical. The song begins with three lines sung by Chris, Kim, and Chris respectively. Chris is taken aback by Kim's actions (presumably a reference to her sacrifice for their son,) and he pleads with her not to die. Kim responds with the line "The gods have guided you to your son," which could be interpreted as her attempting to comfort Chris or absolve herself of her actions. The lyrics then intensify as Kim begs Chris to hold her one more time, emphasizing the deep love and longing between the two characters, despite their tragic ending. The final line of the song reflects on how far they have come in one night - from strangers to lovers to the painful realization that their time together was limited.

Now, Tam, my big boy
Our long wait has ended
Smile, Tam, for you have a father at last he Has come to take you home
All I dreamed for you he'll do
You're still mine but I can't go along
Don't be sad though I'm far away I'll be watching you
This is the hour I swore I'd see
I alone can tell now what the end will be
They think they decide your life
No, it will be me
Look at me one last time
Don't forget what you see
One more kiss
And then say goodbye

Honestly one of the most emotional performances I’ve seen with this show. Her smile when she realizes who’s holding her in her final moments and he returns the smile despite the fear he’s feeling at the beginning, to their tender last kiss just breaks my heart every time 😭

No matter how many times i see this performance i cant help but cry. It doesn't help that the love of my life is in the Philippines and i cant get to her because of Covid 19 travel bans.

And the other sad thing is that Christ never knew how much Kim went through to raise and protect Tam, and that even in the end, Christ could not save and protect Kim, too! How tragic, sad, indeed! However, the sight of Tam being held by Ellen in the end makes me feel hopeful that Kim's presence and memory will forever be a part of Chris and Ellen's life! I still cry every time I see this particular ending though. 😢😭

One of the most tragic musicals ever. The emotion this musical brings out. I’ve seen it so many times on stage and I know what happens but cry every single time, not at just this scene but almost the entire time from the beginning all the way to the final curtain. Just a beautiful music with important history.

I’m a fan not only of Ms. Lea Salonga but the whole cast of Miss Saigon. I was one of the audience clapping during the finale of the show. Blessed to experience the feel of watching it in CCP.
2021 and still at awe at the talents of everyone in the cast.
I praise God for your talents.
