The song "Please" in Miss Saigon is a conversation between Kim and John, a pimp working for a place called "The Engineer" in Saigon. Kim, who has been waiting for Chris for three years, is elated to hear that he is alive and that he is in Saigon. "Please" is powerful for the simple reason that for her, all the hell that she had gone through was rewarded with Chris's return, and she can tell her son, "Your father's here," and that they may even be breathing the same air tonight. John doesn't have the courage to tell her. You wonder how many times the producers of this Musical want us to cry.
